To our Nerdfest friends and community,
In late 2024, we came up with the idea to bring a family friendly convention to Rock Hill. Not just a place to buy and sell things, but an event that would include all sorts of fandoms, cosplay, and more.
We had our first show in March, 2025 and it was a huge success, with 500 paying attendees. We were absolutely blown away by the support from the community. Later that year in October, we took a little bit of a dip, with 350 attendees. It was a bit of a muggy and windy day. But, we came roaring back in March, 2026 with roughly 600 paying attendees. Our goal with the fall 2026 show was to make it the best yet, with awesome vendors, guests, and promoting on social media. We fired on all cylinders. Then…we got some news. A tropical storm was coming.
We had a whole courtyard section planned that we unfortunately had to close. Lots of modifications had to be made in the leadup to this show. On paper, with the weather, it’d make sense for us to take a dip in attendance.
But…we had over 800 attendees!
The community showed up and turned a middle school gym into a huge convention. And…it was awesome!
We could not be more thankful to everyone for making this event so special. We have an incredible team that made it happen, in the leadup to the show, and setting up and breaking down. We love our vendors who represent so many amazing fandoms and interests. We have the most passionate guests who bring our show alive.
We’ll have more to come in the future, rest assured Nerdfest will be back in 2027. But for now, thank you everyone for making this the best Nerdfest yet!
