My sister, Pam, just gave me a head's up about this story:
The stands at Chase Field were packed with fans waiting for the hero of the game to emerge—and then he did. It was Matt Hilton, the beekeeper who saved the day. A swarm of bees had suddenly moved into the netting behind home plate delaying the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers. In came the beekeeper armed with a vacuum to capture—and later release—the uninvited visitors. The crowd went wild, cheering “MVP” as Hilton did his job. The beekeeper even received his own baseball card and was asked to throw out the first pitch.
Want to read about another beekeeper who had a major impact? Warren Publishing, Inc. has scheduled my book “The Beekeeper,” a work of historical fiction for release on May 20th. It tells the story of D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic.
