Miles For Marines

Miles For Marines Endurance Events for the purpose of raising funds and awareness of the Semper Fi Fund. Marine Corps.

Miles For Marines is a 15K (Crucible) and 5K (Double-Time) race that is being held in honor of all who have served with the U.S. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 8am in Rock Hill’s Westminster Park located off of India Hook Rd. The courses are both challenging and scenic, winding along the banks of the Catawba River. As participants run the courses, we hope to remind ourselves

and others of the discipline, self sacrifice and rigorous training that Marines endure in an effort to better serve our nation and keep us safe.

Looking for a location to host the race... need trails and good parking in the Northeast area of Columbia, SC. Rich and I are ready to resurrect the event!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will not have a race this June. My husband, Rich McKenrick and I are moving to Columbia, SC in the next few months and we simply do not feel that we can manage planning the race from Columbia and with such a small group of volunteers. It is our sincere hope to either partner with the Marine Corps League in Columbia or look for a venue in the area to continue our efforts to support the Semper Fi Fund. The upcoming Cooper River Bridge run supports the Semper Fi Fund, if you are looking for an upcoming regional race. Please look for an email from us if you ever provided such information for future dates. Thank you to all who have supported us the last five years.
