Celebrating Black Philanthropy Month 🖤

This month, we recognize and celebrate the rich legacy of Black philanthropy—a tradition rooted in generosity, resilience, community, and the belief that when one of us rises, we all rise.

Black philanthropy has never been defined solely by financial giving. It has always been about investing time, sharing knowledge, opening doors, mentoring youth, advocating for justice, and creating opportunities where they may not have existed before.

At Beyond a Dream Inc., we are proud to be part of that legacy. Every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter who believes in our mission helps us equip young people with the tools, support, and resources they need to move from self-discovery to stability and measurable progress.

This month, we celebrate those who give—not for recognition, but because they believe in the power of community and the potential of the next generation.

Whether you donate, mentor, volunteer, encourage, or simply show up for someone in need, you are a philanthropist.

Thank you for helping us build brighter futures, one young person at a time.

🌍 Today, on World Youth Skills Day, we're reminded that preparing young people for the future is about more than academics—it's about equipping them with the confidence, mindset, and life skills to navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Through The 3P Project (Passion • Planning • Pursuit), we're guiding youth as they discover their strengths, develop a plan, and pursue meaningful futures with confidence and purpose.

Today, we celebrate the potential of every young person and reaffirm our commitment to creating opportunities that inspire growth, confidence, and measurable progress.

The future isn't built by chance. It's built by the skills we develop today.

Happy World Youth Skills Day! 💙✨

We’re always looking for ways to maximize the impact of your donations, and here’s how: We started using Zeffy to fundraise.

💫 While every other fundraising platform takes a portion of your donation in fees, Zeffy delivers 100% of it to our organization. Zeffy is financed by voluntary contributions from donors like you!

Your gift is going straight to our mission!

We want to provide 100 children with book bags and school supplies for the upcoming school year. We have identified a small, rural community in Westmoreland, Jamaica whose families have not recovered from the devastation of last year's category 5 hurricane.

We need your help for these parents to have one less thing to worry about, and to give smiles and confidence back to these children.

Donations can be made to https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/school-supply-drive-7

If you would like to mail supplies, they can be sent to:

Beyond a Dream, Inc.
885 Gold Hill Rd #3141
Fort Mill, SC 29708

As usual, thank you for your kindness.

Your gift to the School Supply Drive 📚 puts real tools in students’ hands—backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, rulers, and other essential supplies—so…

Partnerships like this make our mission possible. 💙

Today we picked up another generous donation from Cardinal Tissue, marking their second bulk donation to Beyond a Dream Inc.

These essential supplies will directly support the youth and families we serve through initiatives like Jumpstart and our community outreach efforts. What may seem like everyday necessities can make a meaningful difference for someone navigating a difficult season.

To the team at Cardinal Tissue, thank you for believing in our mission and continuing to invest in the work we're doing. Your generosity is helping us equip young people with more than resources—you're helping create stability, dignity, and hope.

We are grateful for partners who choose to make an impact alongside us. Here's to continuing to change lives, one act of kindness at a time.

Grateful for a powerful and productive meeting with Elaine Wilmore (Economic Development Coordinator - City of Rock Hill) and Thomas Monroe, where we had the opportunity to learn more about the City of Rock Hill’s growing efforts—through its City of Rock Hill Economic & Urban Development Committee—to expand youth development initiatives across the city.

Conversations like these matter.

They create alignment.
They surface opportunity.
And they open doors for collaboration that can truly impact young lives.

During our discussion, Elaine also connected us with Donna Smart, a key organizer and advocate for youth empowerment who serves as Facility Supervisor within Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism—the department where many of the city’s youth-focused programs take root.

We’re also honored to have been invited to present the mission and 2026 objectives of Beyond a Dream, Inc. at the Economic & Urban Development Committee meeting this April.

These moments reinforce why awareness-building is just as important as programming. Every introduction, every conversation, and every shared vision brings us one step closer to creating stronger pathways for our youth.

Thankful for leaders who are willing to listen, collaborate, and invest in the future of our community.

More to come.

Grateful for a productive meeting with Winthrop University Center for Career Development and Internships to explore a potential partnership with Beyond a Dream Inc. focused on creating meaningful, real-world internship opportunities for students across multiple disciplines.

Our conversation with Becky Ross and Michael Szeman centered on strengthening purpose-driven learning experiences while building a talent pipeline that supports community-based work. An unexpected highlight was the opportunity to connect with City of Rock Hill’s Economic & Urban Development team, reinforcing strong alignment between Beyond a Dream Inc.’s initiatives and broader workforce and economic development efforts in the region.

Moments like these affirm the power of collaboration in advancing education, workforce readiness, and community impact. Looking forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring what’s possible together.

We’re incredibly grateful to share that Beyond a Dream, Inc. has received a $3,500 gift card grant from Kroger to support our Jumpstart initiative.

This support comes at a critical time.

Through Jumpstart, we provide essential resources to youth navigating life transitions—moments when stability, access, and basic needs can make all the difference in how they move forward. This grant allows us to meet those immediate needs while reinforcing dignity, confidence, and direction.

We are especially proud to align with Kroger’s vision of creating a world with Zero Hunger | Zero Waste—a mission that directly supports the communities we serve and the youth we are committed to uplifting.

This isn’t just about resources.
It’s about ensuring that no young person steps into their next chapter unsupported.

Thank you to Kroger for investing in our work and believing in the impact of this initiative.
