A series of announcements actually. First, our website is back up! Woot! Second, September marked the start of our twentieth year. We would have had this announcement up in September but then…ya know, our website 🤷‍♂️. Kirk wrote a special essay to honor this milestone - link in bio! Lastly, the Arts Council of York County has graciously invited us to have our annual Friends of FriArts show in their Perimeter Gallery. Starts today thru Nov 17th. Thank you, ACYC!

Tomorrow, Friday morning, our weekly discussion group is happening (note the new time). We will continue to discussion content from Sheehan Quirke’s wonderful cultural primer. Join us to discuss the shape of history.

Hello friends. I’ve (Kirk, director FriArts) have been reluctant to write about this because I had hoped it would be resolved, but it has passed that possibility and now needs to be acknowledged. For the past 17 days our website (Fridayartsproject.org) has been down and for whatever reason we have been unable to access our account to deal with it. We are currently working on trying to fix it, but…let’s just say the word frustration doesn’t begin to match the feelings. As you may know we have not had the best experience with our website maintenance as we have no dedicated person for it. This difficulty has resulted in our inability to send out our monthly email for October and also acknowledge that last month Friday Arts Project started the celebration of its 20th year. It was started in September 2006 on the campus of Winthrop University. I had actually written a special post that I had hoped we could place on our website, but that is currently not possible. This may not be a big deal to you as you use our social media sites for our info, that’s great. But we would like to get the thing back up and running. Thanks for your patience. Feel free to DM us if you have questions. Regards, Kirk Irwin.

Join us tomorrow, Friday morning for our discussion group. We are reading the next chapter of Sheehan Quirke’s, The Cultural Tutor. No need to read beforehand as we read it aloud to one another. No, really. It’s nice! You don’t have to do all the work. Just listen…if ya want.

Winthrop University friends we can’t wait for you to join us this semester!
