Meet Specter 🐾

Sometimes the goofiest smiles hide the saddest stories.

Specter is just 2 years old, and somehow he found himself sitting in an animal control facility after the only family he knew walked away. No explanation. No reason. Just a confused boy left wondering where everyone went.

Despite having his heart broken, Specter hasn’t given up on people.

This handsome, derpy-faced boy is 100% love wrapped up in a goofy package. He can be a little shy at first, but the moment he realizes you’re kind, his tail starts wagging and his silly personality comes shining through. He has already decided that our dog walkers are treasures, and he clings to every bit of affection they give him.

Specter wants so badly to be someone’s good boy. He responds wonderfully to training, loves to please, and has the kind of loyal heart that will stay by your side through everything. His sweet little “thank you” kisses are absolutely priceless.

He’s dog friendly, and while he’s curious about cats, they actually make him a little nervous! Watching him prance quickly past the cat rooms is enough to make anyone smile. 😆

What Specter really needs is a family willing to look into those soulful eyes and promise him that this time, forever really means forever.

He didn’t deserve to be left behind.

But maybe his story isn’t ending—maybe it’s just waiting for the right person to begin the next chapter.

❤️ Specter is ready to meet his forever family. Could that be you? ❤️

🥰Meet Gigi!

When Gigi first arrived, you would have thought she was a mountain lion the way everyone talked about her.

She had to be catch-poled, sedated, and transported in a crate that couldn’t even be opened until she arrived safely at our shelter. Everyone saw a frightened dog who seemed impossible to reach.

But what we saw was something very different.

We saw a little girl who was terrified.

So we didn’t force her. We left her crate in her kennel and simply let her know she was safe. Day after day, volunteers sat quietly beside her. No expectations. No pressure. Just gentle voices and patience.

And little by little, Gigi started to believe us.

First came a tiny tail wag. Then a curious glance. Then she began seeking out those precious snuggles and one-on-one moments she had been missing for so long.

Today, Gigi is one of our dog walkers’ favorites. She warms up in just minutes, loves her walks, walks beautifully on a leash, and absolutely melts when she realizes you’re there to love her.

This sweet Chi/Terrier mix is only 2½ years old and weighs about 30 pounds. She keeps her kennel clean and is ready for a home of her own. While she can be selective with other dogs and may give a few classic Chihuahua “snaps” if she feels overwhelmed, she isn’t looking for trouble—she’s simply learned to protect herself when she’s scared. Older children would be best, as small children can make her nervous.

The most beautiful part of Gigi’s story?

She has stolen so many hearts that one of her devoted dog walkers was so touched by her journey that they sponsored half of her adoption fee.

Someone saw what we all see now: not a scared dog, not a difficult dog, but a wonderful dog who just needed someone to believe in her.

Gigi has spent enough of her life being afraid.

Now she deserves a soft bed. A safe home. A family who will love her exactly as she is.

Let’s give this brave little girl the one thing she’s been waiting for all along:

A place where she never has to be scared again. ❤️🐾

Apply to meet Gigi today and help write the happiest chapter of her story.
