🌲 A NEW ADDITION TO KAILEE’S GARDEN! 🌲
We are so excited to share that a White Spruce tree has been planted in Kailee’s Garden, and it carries with it a beautiful history!
A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to Trevor Borresen, who graciously volunteered his time to dig the hole and install this wonderful tree. We are so grateful for your generosity and hard work, Trevor!
White spruce trees hold deep significance for the Indigenous peoples of New York State. The Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy — whose ancestral lands include our very own region — have long honored evergreen trees as symbols of peace and unity. Over 1,000 years ago, their great peacemaker Dekanawidah brought five warring nations together under what became known as the Great Law of Peace. Nations would bury their weapons beneath the roots of the peace tree as a solemn symbol of unity — a tradition that has endured for generations right here in New York State.
This White Spruce now stands as a living piece of that history, rooted right here in our community. 🕊️

🕊️ A Day of Peace, Music & Community — Join Us! 🕊️
We are so excited to invite our community to a truly special morning at Kailee’s Garden!
On Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM, the Rotary Club of Rochester Southwest will be dedicating an International Peace Pole right here at 133 Kenwood Ave — a beautiful and lasting symbol of hope, harmony, and goodwill for our neighborhood and the world.
🌍 “May Peace Prevail On Earth”
Following the dedication, stay and join us for Rock Painting — a fun, creative activity open to all ages! It’s the perfect way to carry the spirit of peace home with you.
Then, cap off your morning at the Arnett Branch Library from 12:30–1:30 PM for the final concert of the 2026 Spring Music Series, featuring the Eastman School Chamber Music Quartet. Free and open to the public!

🌱 Volunteers Needed at Kailee’s Garden! 🌸

Welcome to Kailee’s Community Garden, a neighborhood garden proudly located at 133 Kenwood Avenue in Rochester’s 19th Ward. Operated in partnership with the Rotary Club of Rochester Southwest and in coordination with the City of Rochester, this space exists to serve our community.

Kailee’s Garden is more than a garden. It is a peaceful place filled with flowers, fresh produce, pollinator habitats, and open green space where families can picnic, neighbors can gather, and anyone can enjoy a quiet moment outdoors.

Now we’re inviting YOU to be part of it.

🌿 We’re Looking for Volunteers To Help With:
• Planting flowers and vegetables
• Weeding and watering
• General garden maintenance
• Beautification projects
• Supporting seasonal improvements

No experience is necessary. If you’re willing to show up and lend a hand, there’s a place for you here. Gardening is learned by doing — and we work side-by-side as neighbors.

This garden thrives because of volunteers. It grows because of community. And it continues because people care enough to show up.
