I’m not sure I have the right words for this, but I’ll try…

I came back to my desk this week after putting out a simple request and just stood there. It was covered in baby safety supplies.

Because I know the families who ask us for these. I’ve sat with parents who are doing everything they can to keep their kids safe, but just don’t have the resources for things like outlet covers or cabinet locks. I’ve seen the stress in those moments, the worry, the feeling of “am I doing enough?”

And then I walk in and see this. All of you showing up, without hesitation. You didn’t just donate items. You showed those families that they’re not alone. That someone out there cares about their kids’ safety, their dignity, their home.

And I want you to know something else too. This kind of generosity doesn’t just impact the families we serve, it impacts our team. On the hard days, the heavy days, when the work feels like a lot to carry, moments like this remind us advocates why we do what we do. It brings a sense of hope back into the room.

Thank you for showing up with so much generosity and heart. It truly moved me more than I can say.

Right now, families are walking through our doors at Crisis Nursery asking for help. and we want to be able to say yes.

During intake, we do our best to also send families home with essentials like diapers, formula, hygiene items, and simple tools that help keep their children safe and thriving.

But today, we’re out of something that makes a real difference for families when we’re able to offer it: home safety kits

These are the items like outlet covers, cabinet locks, door k**b covers, corner protectors, that prevent injuries and give parents peace of mind. For families already under stress, that safety matters so much.

We want to make sure they’re available when families need them

If you’re able, please consider purchasing a home safety kit from Amazon and having it shipped directly to Crisis Nursery. It’s a simple way to step in for a family who needs support right now.

💛 Your kindness helps create safer homes for children in our community, when it matters most.

Seeds of Carma room is now open to everyone in the community 8-4:30 Mon-Friday. Founded on the belief that no family should have to navigate early childhood alone, the space offers gently used baby and toddler clothing, baby gear, household and hygiene essentials, all at no cost.

Last Friday wasn’t about what was given away, It was about what’s being built.
A space rooted in dignity.
A space built by community.
A space where families will walk in and feel seen, not judged.
This is Seeds of Carma.
And this is just the beginning
If you believe in this kind of community, share this.

Hope to see you there!
