MEMBERS AND FRIENDS gathered at Dan DeMarle's home to package holiday gifts for a young mother and her two sons. Their first real Christmas tree with ornaments was delivered to their home last weekend. Tonight some members wrapped gifts specific to each of them. Other members filled quart plastic bags with a pair of socks, small bottle of water, granola bars, combo toothbrush/toothpaste kit and a $5 bill in some. Participants placed some bags in their cars, perfect to hand to a desperate street corner solicitor.

WILSON MAGNET HS Student of the Quarter: 9th Grader Zarifi Mastoora honored by the Freshman year faculty for student leadership. Jack Best presented her certificate plus a cash award. Second quarter award to be presented to a Sophomore. Also attending this monthly 9th Grade Town Hall was last June's Senior Changemaker of the Year, Hazel Roberts. Her mother, Kimberly, is a Wilson Assistant Principal.

Our club's holiday celebration, held at the Rochester Presbyterian Home, was a resounding success, with all in attendance having a wonderful time. The event brought together members of the Southwest Rochester Kiwanis Club and the Honeoye Falls-Mendon Rotary Club, along with our family members. The evening featured great food, warm fellowship, recognition of Club Members of the Month, and a wine-pull fundraiser.

This morning our Rotary Club hit the Erie Canalway Trail for our monthly beautification day, starting at the Brooks Ave entrance! As we continue celebrating the Canal Bicentennial, we’re proud to help care for our adopted 2-mile stretch of this historic and cultural treasure right here in southwest Rochester.

It’s not just about cleaning up—it’s about strengthening our social infrastructure, deepening relationships, and showing what a shared sense of purpose can do!

Armed with gloves, grabbers, and lots of big bags, our mighty team of four bushwacked through pricker bushes and poison ivy and collected:
• 3 large bags of trash
•5 grocery bags of returnable bottles & cans
•A surprising assortment of items… including candle butts, AA batteries, and even clothing 👀!

Every month we make a visible difference—and we have fun doing it! Rotarians (and friends of Rotary) are always welcome to join us on the third Saturday of every month, 10:00 am-noon, rain, snow or shine!

It was a beautiful day for members of the Rotary Club of Rochester-Southwest to do fall cleaning at Harbor House with executive director Lawrence Jones! We’re proud to support this organization that provides vital medical guest house services to the loved ones of folks receiving critical care in Rochester.
