On August 11, our teen members stepped behind the scenes at the Rochester Red Wings for an afternoon of career exploration!

⚾ From operations and game-day planning to the many roles that keep a professional sports organization running, they discovered that there’s so much more to a team than what happens on the field.

Experiences like these help Club teens connect their passions to future career opportunities. A big thank you to the Rochester Red Wings for inspiring the next generation! 💙

From August 11–13, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester was proud to host the John Wallace/MVP Basketball Camp Back-to-School Basketball Clinic, where young people spent three days developing their basketball skills, building confidence, and preparing for the school year ahead. 🏀💙

Led by former NBA standout John Wallace and the incredible MVP Basketball Camp team, participants experienced high-energy instruction, mentorship, and encouragement that emphasized the importance of both physical and mental wellness. Every drill, conversation, and team activity reinforced valuable life skills like perseverance, discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

Thank you to John Wallace, MVP Basketball Camp, our coaches, volunteers, and everyone who made this inspiring experience possible. Together, we're helping young people grow stronger—on the court, in the classroom, and in life.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Wegmans, our members will enjoy a delicious dinner on Friday, August 14, from 2:30–3:30 p.m. featuring penne with seasoned tomato sauce, meatballs, slider rolls, Caesar and garden salad, and cookies.

Today, Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester had the privilege of celebrating 26 outstanding young people during our Eva and Vaughn Morgan Scholarship Luncheon.

These scholarship recipients have demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to their education, and we are proud to recognize the bright futures they are building.

A special thank you to Kevin Morgan and the Morgan Family Fund for their continued investment in our youth through the Eva and Vaughn Morgan Scholarship, and to Doeren Mayhew for helping make today's celebration possible.

We were also inspired by remarks from Dwayne Mahoney, Kevin Morgan, Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester Board Member and representative of the Morgan Family Fund, John Rizzo, Managing Principal of Doeren Mayhew's New York Region, and Nasir Bicknell, our 2026 Western New York Youth of the Year. Together, they shared powerful messages about the importance of education, perseverance, giving back, and the lifelong impact of the Boys & Girls Club experience.

Congratulations to all 26 scholarship recipients. We are honored to be part of your journey and look forward to all you will accomplish.

📚🎒 A heartfelt thank you to Harris Beach Murtha for their incredible generosity!

Thanks to their donation of backpacks filled with school supplies, even more Club kids will head back to school prepared, confident, and ready to learn. Their support is helping make our Dr. Bettina Love Backpack Giveaway on August 25 even more impactful for the families we serve.

Partnerships like this remind us what is possible when our community comes together to invest in young people. Thank you, Harris Beach Murtha, for helping Club kids start the school year strong! 💙
