“Mr. Mike, how can you tell if you had a good New Year?”
Just two weeks ago, I was asked that question by one of our boys. I proceeded to tell him the variables that factor into the equation when I am determining what a “good year” is/was.
Check out these pictures. Need I say more?
Salvation, servant hood and steadfastness were the three things that we focused on this year with the kids, as we sought out to develop the best possible disciples that they were capable of becoming.
This year, we graduated off our last child that came to us from an outreach held by Bethel at Tacoma Park in 2016. Miyanna was a National Honor Society recipient, as well as an Urban League Black Scholar Honoree. She is now living on campus at College and studying to become a Veterinary Technician.
During the Summer, most of our kids participated in our Spiritual Enrichment And Discipleship (SEAD) Academy. Headed by Talea Hall, the purpose of SEAD was/is to assist our children in their quest to perform academically at their expected and respective grade levels by the time the school year begins. (SHHH….Our kids WILL succeed).
Our kids were actively involved in an outreach where they fed and served 182 meals, 88 bags of food were given to people that were in need; and in addition to this, the kids prayed for several others.
A special note. Talea Hall (LITERALLY a lifelong B.E. Family member, and B.E. Leader) became the first B.E. Alumni to author a book-“Healing is essential”. Truly, she is some of the “Good that came out of the hood.”
2025….Oh yes….It DEFINITELY was a good (happy) New Year.
Thanks-to-YOU.
