It is rare to walk into a meeting carrying $40,000 in program debt and find three leaders who show up as caring adults first and politicians second. That debt exists because we refused to stop running a youth and young adult program we know is changing lives. We refused to stop showing up for these young people—whether there was a paycheck, a plaque, or a pat on the back.
It is also rare for a Governor, a Senator, and an Assemblyman to come in person, with their teams alongside them, and sit through a 30-minute presentation led by community youth—then reach into their resources and provide $190,000 to support them.
Your money goes where your heart is. Thank you, Governor Kathy Hochul, Assemblyman Demond Meeks, and Senator Jeremy Cooney, for putting your hearts in the right place.
Part of me wants to say, “Look at me and M.I.B&G,” but the truth is: look at God. Look at our elected officials showing up and showing out.

It's not everyday you go into a meeting with 3 caring adults first and foremost, and politician second-with 40,000 dollars worth of debt hanging over your program's head. Debt because you refuse to stop running a youth and young adult program that you know is touching and changing lives. Debt, because you refuse to not show up for these babies whether you get a paycheck, a plaque or a pat on the back.
It's not every day that a Governor, a Senator and an Assemblyman, show up in person, with their entourage in tow, and sit through a half hour presentation presented by community youth. Then reach into their resource bags and pull out $190,000 for these babies.
Your Money goes where your heart is. THANK YOU...Governor Kathy Hochul, Assemblyman Demond Meeks, and Senator Jeremy Cooney, for having your hearts in the right place.

In the past, I was not concerned with receiving acknowledgments and recognition. My sole focus was on making a positive impact on the lives of young people and achieving results. Nevertheless, at my current age, which many of my friends did not live to see, I have come to appreciate the value of being acknowledged and celebrated. Thank you, teen empowerment, for evaluating my metrics and finding them deserving of recognition.
