Rainbow Dialogues

Rainbow Dialogues Rainbow Dialogues: A Bridge From the Past To the Present, is the Shoulders to Stand On program's eighth initiative.

The Rainbow Dialogues create a collaborative forum that fosters important ongoing conversations in our LGBTQ community, bridging our past to present day issues, allowing archival collections to inspire spirited discussions about equality and justice. Its goal is to provide the Rochester LGBTQ community and its allies an ongoing forum for addressing important issues currently impacting our lives. U

sing our archival collections as inspiration, the Out Alliance will partner with the Rochester Public Library and ImageOut to create open and honest dialogue on the things that matter most, and bring relevancy to the past. It's a framework that encourages visibility, and provides a focus for real conversation relating to LGBTQ equality and justice. Each collaborative partner brings a unique individual and combined outreach to the communities they serve. We will work together to raise awareness, understand the impact our differences make in building a more cohesive community, and discover the common threads that bring us together to explore solutions to our concerns. Creating a unified cohesive community that can learn from its past, transcend its differences, and find common ground requires constant effort. Rainbow Dialogues is designed to help sustain this effort.
