Highlights from the closing workshop include evolving reasons for the divisiveness, its impact, and ways we can still have conversations even when we disagree. Do we stay in silos or build community? Bill gave us food for thought. How do we put it into action?

It was a wonderful Braver Angels Day in Rochester. Participants learned four specific skills to open up conversation: listen, acknowledge, pivot and perspective. What a great day and now for the practice. Thank you Braver Angels and the three Rotary Clubs.

District Governor Michael-jon Pease recognized two more of our dedicated members: CHRIS SCHOENHERR and ROGER GRAF!

Both Chris and Roger live Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self." When there's a service project or work to be done, you can count on them to show up, roll up their sleeves, and get things done!

🌍 CHRIS SCHOENHERR — Chris led a Rotary grant project to build three learning centers in Uganda, providing children living in a refugee camp with opportunities to learn and build a brighter future.

💙 ROGER GRAF — Roger stepped into the important role of Club Treasurer, taking on a job that requires dedication, attention to detail, and countless hours behind the scenes. He has embraced the responsibility and is making the role his own.

💙💛 Service Above Self isn't just a motto for Chris and Roger. It's how they serve. Whether creating educational opportunities worldwide or strengthening our club at home, both show that lasting impact takes many forms.

Congratulations, Chris and Roger! Our club is stronger because of you!

📚 DENISE KELLY — Making a Difference Through Literacy
For 19 years, Denise has been the outstanding leader of our club's Literacy Project, which provides an almanac to every third grader in Rochester. Over the years, this remarkable program has reached 18,000 young people! That's 18,000 opportunities to inspire curiosity, learning, and discovery.

🤝 DON FELL — Turning Grants into Lasting Impact
For more than 15 years, Don has been a dedicated member of our 3-Club Grants Team. He has written numerous grants and helped evaluate and select projects from other Rotary clubs for funding.
Last year alone, grants supported by the 3 Rochester Rotary Clubs helped nine other Rotary clubs carry out projects benefiting more than 72,000 people!

💙💛 Denise and Don remind us what Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self," looks like in action.
