GRR member Chris Schoenherr shared an exciting update on the Seeds of Wisdom grant. The 3 learning centers in Uganda are now complete and serving the community!

The centers are benefiting 325 students and 3,000 people living in the refugee camp. As the use of the school rooms expands to include neighboring areas, they are expected to reach an additional 6,000 people.

What a wonderful example of Rotary creating hope and lasting change! This was a three-Rochester Rotary Clubs effort.

We were delighted to welcome Rotary Global Scholar Dr. Yokoyuki Amira, a pediatrician, who introduced us to his lovely family and shared his research goals. Food allergies are a significant concern among children in Japan, and Dr. Amira is excited to collaborate with Mayo Clinic to advance research in this important area. We look forward to following his work and learning more!

PossAbilities has BIG ideas for serving more people with disabilities. Guy Finne, Director of Community and Strategic Partnerships, shared information about the innovative Achievement Hub, which will expand opportunities for careers and financial security. This was a wonderful presentation.

Adopt-a-Drain program is so simple and so impactful. We were at city’s Public Works booth during the Safe Nite at Jefferson Elementary School . Peg and April from the Risers were there and me. There were hundreds in attendance. We must have talked with 60 or so people. The next one is in August at Franklin School
