We are an organization started by educators in collaboration with parents with a goal of providing supported recreational activities for families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays that may limit a family’s ability to participate in traditional activities. Our mission is to provide skills to families and children that promote independence, healthy active lifestyle

s, networking and greater opportunities for families to participate in their community. We offer programs both locally in the Rochester, NY area and in the Adirondack Mountains. Our programs target families with school aged children.

The STAR parent training Community Social Skills will take place from 6:15-7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. This virtual training will provide caregivers with an overview of generalized methods for the use of prosocial behavior in community spaces as well as assist in identifying strategies that may help their children remain safe and succeed in community settings.

Wonderful to see funding for accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities in outdoor recreation! Kudos to the towns that have been awarded the funding, and many thanks to NYS Department of Environmental Conservation for prioritizing and supporting accessibility!
