RVFD would like to send a huge thank you to those that supported in our annual pancake breakfast this morning. The rain did not keep people away and we loved seeing all of your smiling faces. Friends, families, community members and even people just passing through made for a perfect morning. Thank you to everyone that attended, donated, and or volunteered their time this morning to make this event a great success. Happy Easter from our family to yours! We Also want to wish our Assistant Fire Chief Ray Harvey a very happy birthday!

The Rochester Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting our annual pancake breakfast on Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2026 from 7-10 AM at the Rochester Firehouse.
Cant stay for breakfast? No problem,Takeout will be available by calling 802-767-1136 during breakfast hours on the day of the breakfast and can be picked up right at our Firehouse.
As always, payment is by donation to help support the activities of the Fire Department. Although we are having a persistent winter it is sure to be cheerful and warm at the Firehouse Easter Sunday for breakfast!

Training Tuesday.
Tonight Members of the Department trained wearing SCBA ( Self-contained breathing apparatus). Training included different obstacles to build proficiency and ensure familiarity with equipment, and tools.

Happy holidays. Tonight Rochester Volunteer Fire Department helped Santa arrive on the Park by Fire Truck, with smiles and cheers and a visit from the lighted SD Ireland truck there was happiness all around. Thank you to those that attended this event and to those that had a helping hand in making lots of happy community members!

Santa will be visiting town, arriving on the Rochester park tomorrow night at 5:00pm, caroling, Santa visit and SD Ireland. Happy holidays!

SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN
1 week from today Saturday December 20th at 5:00pm on the Rochester park, Santa will be making a visit to the park arriving by Fire Truck, with special guest from the beautiful lighted SD Ireland truck. With caroling, tree lighting with Santa, the SD Ireland truck, and our fresh snow it is sure to be a fun event for all.

TONIGHTS SANTA VISIT IS BEING POSTPONED.
we are very sorry to announce the vist with Santa and the SD Ireland truck tonight on the Rochester park has to be postponed due to weather, and unsafe travels. As we know so many families were excited and may be upset and we understand, as First Responders we have made the decision to have families stay home safely for the night. Have no worries Santa and the SD Ireland truck are planning a trip to Rochester ASAP. Look for another post later this week. Thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe tonight.

A beautiful night for training. Tonight Members of RVFD trained on dressing a hydrant, pump operations on the truck and practice with a hose and nozzle, while other members on the Department helped with maintenance to equipment, a training on using our chimney fire kit and brushing up on where the tools on the trucks are located.

TRAINING TUESDAY.
Last night members of RVFD participated in a vehicle extraction TRAINING. This training simulated an accident scene to practice different skills throughout the scenario. Members used the Departments new Jaws of Life extraction tools to preform precision cuts and movements to safely free potential trapped individuals. ( reminder this was a TRAINING ACTIVITY). Members split into groups and each were given an opportunity to use the tools, practice scene safety, and working as a team, making this a very successful training.

SEPTEMBER 4, 2025
Vermont's Fire Danger for today is VERY HIGH. This is mainly because, despite recent rain, most fuels remain dry, and gusty winds are expected today. Do not burn without a permit from your town.

Tuesday night the Department split into groups and worked on different Fire fighting skills. Dressing and properly using a hydrant, working with hose and nozzles, pump operations on the truck and not pictured was a refresher on wearing SCBA. (Self contained breathing apparatus).
