What a joyful day at our church yard sale!

We are so grateful for the beautiful weather, the wonderful teamwork, and the many neighbors who came by. This yard sale was more than an event—it was a meaningful way to connect with our community and share God’s love through hospitality.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this big day full of joy and gratitude.

20260402 Bethany UMC Ministry Report: Maundy Thursday and a Journey of Grace

At the close of the Lenten season in 2026, we gathered for our Maundy Thursday service. As we gently washed one another’s hands, we learned the humility of our Lord. As we shared one bread and one cup, we participated in the body and blood of Christ.
It was more than simply observing a ritual—it was a solemn yet warm moment of committing ourselves to be deeply involved in one another’s lives and to care for each other.

The Word Sharing Circle held throughout this Lenten season was also a great blessing. Even in the midst of busy daily lives, the members of the congregation did not hesitate to kneel before the Word. As they shared their lives of reflection with honesty and openness, I witnessed the true strength of a faith community growing together.

I am truly proud of the Bethany community, who always serve with their best, build one another up with their deepest love, and strengthen the church through wholehearted devotion. In their sincere faith, always responding humbly before the Word of God, I sense the fragrance of Christ.

I offer my deep gratitude to the members who have shown that these forty days of walking were not in vain. On this journey toward the resurrection of our Lord, we were stronger and more joyful because we walked it together.

Dear Friends,

The final day of Lent is here—the morning of Day 40 has come.
I just want to say thank you to those who have been walking this journey with me over the past forty days.
To be honest, this Lenten season has been especially meaningful for me. These are passages I’ve heard many times before, but reading through the Gospel of Mark from beginning to end slowly and prayerfully felt different this time. It felt like I was walking closely behind Jesus. And along the way, I came to know the Lord I already knew in a deeper way.
What surprised me the most was this: as the Word filled my days, I began to experience a quiet but steady sense of joy, gratitude, and peace. It reminded me of the “living water” Jesus spoke about—something that doesn’t run dry.
How have these forty days been for you?
I truly hope that this journey has brought some kind of grace into your life as well.
Now we stand right before Easter.
I pray that this Sunday will be a time when the burdens we carry begin to turn into praise, and the shadows we’ve been walking through are met with the light of the risen Christ.
Tomorrow morning, let’s come together, with gratitude and joy, to remember and celebrate our risen Lord.
