Carrie and Ryan recently, and very suddenly, found out that their youngest child, two-year-old Evan, has cancer. They are still working with doctors at the Mayo Clinic to determine the exact type of cancer and the best course of action. The family is in need of a little support while they are tak...

This is a letter my good friend Joe had wrote and I am passing this along as I'm sure either some don't know about this or would like to help in some way but didn't know how they could up until this letter. Please read and lets come together to support everyone in Standing Rock against something that may affect us all!

Hey everyone. As you may or may not know, there is currently a large group in North Dakota at Standing Rock raising their voices to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline's current path. A path through sacred Indigenous lands and across the source of drinking water for millions of citizens, Native and otherwise.
There have already been multiple violations of treaties and basic human rights to assemble and protest. Today, the government halted the pipeline construction temporarily but the fight continues.
People are still arriving in large numbers to raise their voices. They need assistance. Most pressing, temporary housing for the protectors. We are asking for anyone who would like to assist to donate tents and shelters. Used, new, it doesn't matter as long as they are in good condition. If you would like to help, contact Joe Waller or myself by Sunday night! Joe will be driving to Standing Rock on Monday morning. It would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Update: Hope everyone has a great holiday season as this will be the last post until after the new year!
1. To everyone who helped with the North Star stage, I'll let you know when we will get together for a "party" at the Star with pizza and what not for our efforts!
2. If the Star decides they are going to get carpet and need our help with installing it I'll let you know that as well, at this point it seems like they will get a company to do it but nothing is for sure yet.
3.Still working on merch, ( buttons and t-shirts ) once available I'll spread the word.
4. The biggest plan in motion and that will need quite a bit of help with is having a gathering or "pow-wow" out at RCTC in late spring or early summer next year. This will be with help from The Native American Center here in Rochester and many others. Lots of ducks to get in a row for this to work out. NAC also is looking for people to join or help them with their events. If you are interested, I have applications. There is a fee for joining their group, $20 for a family a year, or for individuals it is $10 a year.
Let me know what you think and take care over the holidays!

Big thank you to everyone who could come out despite the weather for the BBQ! It means a lot to have support in this project!

09/04/2015

Hey everyone! Don't forget, the BBQ is this Sunday from 3-5pm! Please bring a lawn chair. I don't have many for people to sit in! Feel free to bring something to drink, if it's beer that is fine however, control yourself. There will be kids around and possibly local news crews and you are at Christine and myself's home and work. Please respect that as I trust everyone. :D MOST OF ALL! HAVE A GOOD TIME! You don't have to work Monday!

Heads up!
