We are making some changes to our annual softball event. In 2018, the funds raised from the softball event will support Miracle Field (rochestermiraclefield.org). To continue to support the Highland Hospital Maternity Bereavement Committee, we will be adding a new event! More information to come soon. :)

Today for World Prematurity Awareness Day we brought a bunch of hats, blankets, and a few other items to Highland Hospital. Then we drove downtown to see the buildings lit up purple!

Last year on World Prematurity Awareness Day we announced that the money raised at the softball event in 2016 would be used to purchase a Cuddle Cot for Highland Hospital.

This year, on World Prematurity Awareness Day, we are thrilled to report that we accomplished so much more in 2016! Thanks to a lot of generous donors, we were able to donate the Cuddle Cot in February - before we had even begun raising money through the softball event! Then, from money raised at the softball event, we donated $3,000 to the maternity ward bereavement committee's wishlist. This money will go toward purchasing items to help bring comfort to families who have experienced a stillbirth.

We are so grateful for all of the generous support we have received over this past year!

Preemie Footprints has teamed up with the American Heart Association for their "Little Hats, Big Hearts" campaign, where they aim to give every newborn at local hospitals in the month of February a red hat to raise awareness about heart disease. We will be providing preemie-sized red hats to the cause. They are collecting hats all year, so we will be sending them hats as we collect them. If you need some yarn, let us know.

When a baby is stillborn, all of the family's hopes and dreams for that child's life are taken away. To add insult to injury, the family often doesn't get to spend much time saying goodbye to their baby. A Cuddle Cot changes that. With the help of a Cuddle Cot, a family can take the time they need with their precious baby. We are raising money to bring a Cuddle Cot to Highland Hospital where Caiden and Kaylie were born. Today, on World Prematurity Awareness Day, we are so excited to announce our mission for next year's softball event! This year we donated the money that we raised to Highland Hospital's Special Care Nursery. It was great to give back to the hospital where Caiden and Kaylie were born, but this year has an even more special personal connection for us. This year we will use the money raised to donate a Cuddle Cot to Highland Hospital. A Cuddle Cot provides the precious gift of time to the parents and family of a stillborn baby.
