Holiday Outreach is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in 1993 to assist less fortunate families during the holiday season and throughout the year. Our fund raising efforts have enabled us to supply many families in need from the city of Rochester as well as other parts of Western New York. In our first year we raised about $400 which was used to supply three Rochester soup kitchens wit
h much needed food supplies during the holiday season. Last year we were able to increase that amount to over $14,000 through a bowl-a-thon, golf tournament, Monte Carlo Night, other community events, and private donations. This past year we were able to provide over 600 children with gifts, clothing and food as well as supplies for several area food cupboards and soup kitchens here in Rochester. We have also in the past been able to support food cupboards in Avon, Lakeville, Mt. Over the years we have been able to help people in a number of different ways. We have supplied blankets to the homeless; provided food and supplies to food cupboards/soup kitchens; supplied food and gifts for children of impoverished families; and provided assistance during emergency situations. Our goal this year is to be able to provide more children with toys and gifts and to give greater assistance to those food cupboard/soup kitchens than we have been able to in the past. In order to do this we will need to surpass last year’s campaign total. We ask for your assistance in this tremendous challenge.
