Pride month may have come to a close, but we’re celebrating the good work our Youth Ambassadors are doing in the community to keep hope and Q***r joy flowing year-round!

Join us in celebrating Young Adult Ambassadors Eva Lynn and Jo on some great recent achievements! 🌈🌈

EL represented GUTF last week at the It Gets Better Changemakers Grant “graduation,” as one of a few projects from their cohort chosen to share highlights from our “I’m Here” clothing swap and art project event in Rochester, NY earlier this year.

And, this past weekend, Jo secured us a table at Navajo Nation Pride, came up with a plan for what activities and giveaway items to have at the event, and made great use of her time there connecting with folks from other orgs and telling event attendees about GUTF. It was a beautiful (albeit windy!) day of Q***r community and connection at Window Rock.

And we want to give a special shoutout to the good folks at Rochester Rainbow Union and Kirrin Finch Clothing while we’re here, for also supporting the I’m Here Project in a big, big way. You have shown our youth team what it means to be “in community” through your support, and that role modeling is so hugely needed. Keep up the great work!

Happy Pride to the youth who opt not to use their preferred pronouns at work or school bc they don’t want to lose opportunities.

Happy Pride to the youth who worry they’re not “Q***r enough” to take up space.

Happy Pride to the youth who have to play teacher about their gender.

Happy early PRIDE y’all! Our new friends at want you to know about this new film from Rowan Haber — a tale of obsession, transness and how art ages over time told through the thick spectacles of the 1990s cult character Pat from “Saturday Night Live.”

Come on down to the historic DCTV Firehouse Cinema in Chinatown from Friday, May 29th through Thursday, June 4th to see WE ARE PAT.

They have an exciting lineup of weekend panelists, including Jeanne Vacaro, , and more to be announced. They may have free tickets to offer A4TE members if cost is a barrier, so reach out if so.

Juniper Blessing was a 19-year-old student, singer, and trans woman. Her family and friends describe her as “brilliant, talented, and deeply empathetic”, a person full of kindness and life. Despite the violent circumstances of her death, we remember Juniper for her happiness, talent, dedication, and hope.
