What does it mean to truly listen to the next generation — not just about identity, but about the words they use to describe themselves?

This Le***an Visibility Week Give Us The Floor is co-presenting Beyond the Rainbow: The Terms We Use — a virtual intergenerational panel exploring how language around q***r identity shifts across generations, why some terms connect and others create tension, and what it looks like when older generations genuinely make space for younger voices.

We're especially proud that this panel is co-moderated by our own Eva Lynn Anderson, GUTF Marketing Assistant and law student — and that our Youth Advisory Board Chair, Julia Esposito, is joining as a panelist. This is our Gen Z crew doing what they do best: leading conversations that matter.

Big thanks to Curve Magazine for inviting our youth team to co-create and lead this event, and bringing important discussions like this one to the forefront during Le***an Visibility Week.

If you want to understand how young q***r people talk about identity right now — and why it matters — this panel is not to be missed.

🎟️ Free to attend. Register here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/beyond-the-rainbow-the-terms-we-use-panel-virtual

Beloved children’s performer Laurie Berkner has shared a message of support for trans kids in a video posted to her Instagram on 31 March, marking Transgender Day of Visibility, singing “You are a beautiful light in this world.”

In the clip, Berkner said it “hurts” that some trans people do not feel safe being themselves, adding, “True freedom is the freedom to be who we are.”

She sang a portion of her song ‘Beautiful Light’ directly to trans youth, encouraging them to take care of themselves and reminding viewers to support one another. The post included resources for trans kids and their families in the caption.

The video resonated strongly with fans, particularly trans adults who grew up listening to her music. Many viewers shared emotional responses in the comments, thanking Berkner for her support and her affirmation.
