🚨STOP THE BUILD. NO DETENTION CENTER IN ROC. 🚨

📍 Kenneth B. Keating Federal Building
đź•” 5 PM | Tuesday, June 9

A proposed ICE detention facility has no place in our community.

Join us on **Tuesday, June 9 at 5 PM** at the **Kenneth B. Keating Federal Building** for a community action against detention, family separation, and the expansion of ICE infrastructure in Rochester.

Bring a sign, bring friends, and bring your voice. There will be music, dancing, community, and opportunities to build power and connect for dignity, safety, and justice for all.

Together, we can show that Rochester stands with immigrants and rejects detention in our city. ICE out now!!

A sincere to everyone who came out to . We had around 100 attendees across the street from RG&E's office sharing stories and eating chili, in our joy and our sadness, ultimately in defiance of RG&E. We were happy to be joined by Congressional Candidate Robin Wilt, enjoy the musical stylings of Apartment 13 () and artistic stylings of custom printed shorts by .

A thank you to our events co-sponsors: Rochester’s chapter of Democratic-Socialists of America .dsa , Rochester’s Sexual & Reproductive Justice Task Force .srj , the Green Party of Monroe County , Rochester Food Not Bombs , Rochester Third Act , and the Federation of Social Workers.

We cannot fight RG&E alone, and it’s going to take support and solidarity to continue the fight, and continue surviving. And as evidenced by the statements from the PSC our collective voices are working. So let’s keep making noise. Let's keep surviving together.

With Love and Solidarity,
The RED Campaign.

Tonight!

Join us for a presentation, discussion and reflection on the Rochester General Strike of 1946. May 28th is the 80th anniversary. After May Day in recent years has spawned so many conversations about general strikes, we thought it would be appropriate to truly reflect on this historic moment for our city.

Please share widely!

Due to public outcry the Public Service Commission (PSC) has instituted temporary Rates, and delayed their decision! And we've got our potlock happening right across the street from RG&E's office in Washington Sq Park! We're keeping up the pressure and we're eating delicious food.

If you want to read more about the PSC's decision, and how people like our volunteers and organizations like Metro Justice have influenced it so far, please visit our newsletter tab which lives on our website (metrojustice.org). You will also be able to see a number of upcoming events, including our block party, as well as desktop actions and essays.

We can all fight for a better future, and when we fight together we win! We hope to see you on Sunday!
