📍Name: Beth Guzzetta

🍎 Role: Department Chair of Technology and Engineering, Middle School Faculty

☕ Coffee Order: This year I came up with a bananas foster Starbucks drink, which is their caramel macchiato but substitute half the vanilla syrup with banana syrup

🐾 Hidden Talent: My hidden talent is running AKC agility with my Spinone Italiano, Murphy, which is especially fun and challenging since Spinoni aren’t your typical agility breed! When I’m not navigating agility courses with Murphy, I love spending time with my family, traveling the world, experiencing new cultures, and seeking out new adventures wherever I go.

💙What Brought you to Mercy: I came to Mercy because I want to help girls build the confidence, skills, and foundation to see themselves in STEM, while sharing my own excitement through creative, hands-on learning that makes STEM fun and engaging. I also deeply value Mercy’s mission and Core Values, which empower young women to become compassionate, confident leaders and help ensure that every door is open to them as they choose their future paths.

🎓What Do You Like Most About Working at Mercy: What I love most about working at Mercy is the incredible sense of community. We truly get to know our girls and build meaningful relationships with them, while the faculty genuinely support one another. I also love Mercy’s many traditions, which bring students, faculty, alumnae, and families together and strengthen a bond that extends far beyond the school campus and lasts a lifetime.

✨One Piece of Advice: Make the most of every moment at Mercy. Step outside your comfort zone, try something new, join a team or club, audition for the musical, and take advantage of opportunities that come your way. Make new friends, say hello to someone you don’t know, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. You may discover interests, talents, and friendships you never expected!

This week's lesson called for a slight adjustment to the Mercy uniform: waders! 😄🥾🌿

Our AP Environmental Science students suited up and headed into one of the coolest learning spaces on campus—our very own marshland! With biodiversity on the agenda, students got a little muddy while taking what they’ve been learning in the classroom out into the field.

From comparing native and non-native plants to examining species diversity, the marsh became a living laboratory, giving students the chance to investigate a real ecosystem up close and see environmental science in action. 💙🔬🌱

🎭 Taking the classroom to the stage!

Mercy Choir, Orchestra, and Theatre Performance students recently headed off campus for a field trip to Geva Theatre, getting an inside look at the world of professional theatre and live performance.

Following the performance, students had the opportunity to engage in an in-depth Q & A session with members of the cast and crew.

From learning how to create a lighting effect called "Theatrical Haze," to receiving practical advice about how to navigate a life in show business, the experience gave students a chance to see how the skills they’re developing at Mercy translate to a professional performing arts environment—and to learn from the artists and professionals who bring a production to life.

Thank you to Geva Theatre for welcoming our students and giving them another opportunity to experience the arts beyond the classroom! 🎶🎭

WHAT A WEEK! 💙🤍

After a full lineup of themed dress-down days, class pride, our annual food drive, and plenty of Mercy spirit, we capped off Spirit Week with one of our favorite traditions—Spirit Day!

Our Mercy girls showed up in their class colors, brought their best to some friendly competition, and cheered each other on from start to finish with everyone’s spirit on full display!

And the impact of Spirit Week went well beyond the fun. Thanks to the generosity of our students and families, this year’s food drive collected more than 20,000 cans for local food cupboards. 💙

THANK YOU to our students, families, faculty, and staff who went all in and made Spirit Week such a success! 🙌

Homecoming & Reunion Weekend brought Mercy Girls of all ages back together—and we loved every minute of it!

From cheering on the Monarchs and catching up with old friends to revisiting familiar spaces and making brand-new memories, the weekend was a celebration of everything that makes the Mercy community so special.
