Congratulations to President Rich de Asis!

At today’s Rochester Rotary Club meeting, Rotary District Governor Jim Crane attended and announced that the Rochester Rotary President Richard de Asis has been selected to serve as District Governor for Rotary year 2028-2029 . October was a busy and exciting month for our scholars! We welcomed the poet and author of Catching the Light – Poetry Prompts for Children of All Ages, and an art teacher. They inspired both our scholars and mentors to tap into their creativity. Together, everyone wrote free verse poems and haikus, complete with illustrations. In just two hours, we saw noticeable growth in confidence, expression, and engagement.

This past weekend, we spent a beautiful fall day at Sunshine Camp picking pumpkins and carving them together. We also had a visit from Rotarian Shawn Goburn, who spoke to the scholars about his Alive + Well program.

You may have even seen two of our scholars in action at Pauly’s 2nd Annual Pasta Dinner, proudly helping serve meals with big smiles and lots of hustle!

The Scholarship Committee is always looking to grow. If you’re interested in sitting in on a meeting or attending an event to learn more, please reach out to any committee member—we’d love to have you join us.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Pauly’s 2nd Annual Pasta Dinner, a night filled with great food, great friends, and great memories.

Big thanks to our chefs, Paul Guglielmo, Peter Sarratori, and Bill Weir, for the incredible meal, and to Rosa Ladelfa for those unforgettable desserts!

Our hearts (and stomachs) are full, and we are already looking forward to next year!
