To promote the general welfare of the student body; to provide programming of educational, cultural, recreational, and social value; to promote within the College a spirit of harmony among administration, faculty, staff, and students; to provide procedures for ensuring he continuity and perpetuity of the Student Association and its governing body; to meet the responsibilities and obligations of se
lf-government as set forth in the Student Government Association By-Laws; to assure the rights as set forth in the “Joint Statement on Rights and Freedoms of Students”; to establish an organization through which the student body may register, by means of a representative and democratic government, its wishes on matters which directly concern it; we, the students of Monroe Community College, establish this Constitution of the Student Association of Monroe Community College. Some of the many benefits of being involved in the Student Government include:

n Overseeing the allocation of over $1,000,000 in student life fees
n Membership on College and Faculty committees
