In memory of the heroic actions committed by a brother of Phi Kappa Psi in saving the life of a dear friend, and to better recognize the heroes within our community here at RIT, the alumni and brothers of the New York Theta chapter of Phi Kappa Psi (at Rochester Institute of Technology) have established the Adam Brody Hero Scholarship.
The brothers of Phi Kappa Psi would like to invite our fellows students to apply for the annual scholarship by sharing stories of their own heroism as a part of the application process; particularly, qualifications for the Hero Scholarship request that applicants express stories where they exemplified the sacrifice that is characteristic of true heroes.
A scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to the student that best adheres to this ideal. Below are the requirements for each applicant:
Student must be full-time
Must be in good academic standing
Must submit a 300-500 word essay demonstrating his/her high moral caliber as exemplified by their own heroism, and the importance of personal sacrifice for the well being of others.
Essays will be submitted to the current Phi Kappa Psi president, Tim Snyder at [email protected].
Each essay should include the applicant’s full name, year in school, major, and RIT user name at the top of page 1.
Demonstration of financial need is not a criteria.
Essays will be due by May 9th at Noon.
We hope you will consider reviewing the application and applying.
