WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY RECAP: PRAYER THAT WORKS 🙏🏾

What makes prayer effective?

Tonight we went deeper than simply asking God for what we need. We looked at Hannah, Jehoshaphat, Daniel, Bartimaeus, Moses, the persistent widow, and Jesus—and discovered different dimensions of a prayer life that is rooted in faith, persistence, obedience, surrender, and relationship with God.

WHOLE-GROUP QUESTIONS:

1. Which biblical character tonight most challenged your understanding of prayer? Why?

2. What is the difference between praying because you’re desperate and developing a lifestyle of prayer?

3. Have you ever received peace through prayer before receiving an answer?

4. Why do you think God sometimes allows us to wait?

5. What does “Thy will be done” actually mean in your prayer life?

6. What is one thing you need to change about your prayer life—not somebody else’s, but yours?

👇🏾 DROP YOUR ANSWER TO ONE OF THE QUESTIONS BELOW.

Let’s keep the conversation going beyond the Bible study.

Because we’re not just learning about prayer.

We’re becoming people who PRAY.

🙏🏾 PRAY. BELIEVE. WAIT. OBEY. WORSHIP. DON’T GIVE UP.

PRAYER STILL WORKS!

SUNDAY WE CROSSED OVER… BUT WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU CROSS?

Sunday, we declared “CROSSING OVER — You Can’t Enter the New Carrying the Old.”

Tonight, we went deeper.

Because crossing into a new season is not the end of the journey—it’s the beginning of a new responsibility.

Israel crossed the Jordan, but they still had to consecrate themselves, remember what God had done, adjust to a new way of living, recognize God’s authority, worship before warfare, and learn how to steward what God had given them.

Sometimes we pray for God to give us more, but we haven’t asked God to make us ready to handle more.

Sometimes we celebrate the breakthrough but forget the responsibility that comes with the blessing.

And sometimes God changes our location before He changes our habits.

PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Take these questions home:
1. What has God already brought me through that I haven’t properly acknowledged?
2. What testimony do I need to preserve rather than forget?
3. What old habit cannot come with me into this new season?
4. Where have I been asking God to bless something instead of asking Him whether He wants it?
5. What responsibility comes with the blessing I’m asking God for?
6. Am I more excited about what God can give me than I am about knowing God Himself?
7. What is God asking me to consecrate?

Watch tonight’s Bible study: “AFTER THE CROSSING — What Do You Do With What God Has Brought You Into?”

BIBLE STUDY DISCUSSION
1. Why do you think God stopped Israel after they crossed the Jordan instead of immediately sending them into Jericho?
2. What is the difference between a change in circumstances and a change in character?
3. Why were the twelve stones important for the children of Israel?
4. What spiritual “memorials” should believers establish in their lives?
5. Why do you think God allowed the manna to stop?
6. What does Joshua’s encounter with the Commander of the Lord’s army teach us about God’s relationship to our plans?
7. What is the difference between asking God to bless your plan and asking God what His plan is?
8. Why is worship an appropriate response before warfare?
9. What can happen when we carry wilderness habits into a Promised Land season?
10. What does God need you to steward differently in your next season?

WE CROSSED—NOW WHAT?

WHAT GOD HAS BLESSED, NO MAN CAN CURSE!

Tonight we restarted our Wednesday Night Bible Study, and what a powerful way to come back!

We opened the Word in Numbers 22–24 and looked at the story of Balak and Balaam. Balak wanted Balaam to curse Israel—but every time Balaam opened his mouth, God turned the intended curse into a blessing!

Why?

Because God cannot lie, and God will not contradict His own Word.

There are moments in life when people may speak against you, situations may look like they are working against you, and even circumstances may seem designed to derail what God has spoken.

But when God has declared a thing, opposition does not have the final word!

“God is not a man, that he should lie…” — Numbers 23:19

Tonight reminded us that our confidence isn’t in people’s opinions, circumstances, or even what things look like.

Our confidence is in the Word of God.

And if God said it—He is able to bring it to pass!

Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight, both in person and online.

This is only the beginning.

Wednesday Night Bible Study is BACK!

Come hungry. Come ready. Come expecting.

The Word is still working!
