SAVE THE DATES! Summer 2026 is around the corner and we have some exciting events planned. The LMA Annual Meeting will be moved this year to Saturday, June 6 to correspond with the Opening of the Lake festivities at the Moose Lodge. We'll be hosting a pancake breakfast with Bloody Mary bar and can't wait to kick off the official lake season with all of you! More details to come.
Mark your calendars for all of these activities, it's going to be a great summer:

June 6th- Annual Meeting and Pancake Breakfast

June 20th - Duck Derby

July 4th - Decorate your Dock Contest

July 18th - Kid's Fishing Clinic

July 25th - Poker Run - and an all new Bingo Run for kids

🛑STOP! Please don't blow grass & leaves into Lake Manitou! 🍂

Intentional dumping or blowing leaves into the lake is considered littering and severely damages the environment.

🚫Violates the Law: Dumping yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, yard waste) into waterways is prohibited by Indiana Code and local ordinances. Fines may apply!

🚫Kills fish: Decomposing leaves use up crucial dissolved oxygen, creating dead zones that suffocate fish and aquatic life.

🚫Destroys habitat: Thick leaf layers smother river bottoms, eliminating spawning grounds for fish and essential homes for aquatic insects.

🚫Contaminates Water: Increased organic matter adds excess nutrients to our water and leaves eventually turn to muck.

Do you use yard Maintenance companies to do your Fall yard clean-up for you? Be sure to explain to them the consequences of blowing leaves into the lake. As homeowners, YOU are responsible for what happens on your property.

Please utilize our City’s leaf pickup and help us educate others by sharing this post.

Lake Manitou Association's annual Poker Run will be this Saturday 7/26! Start at the Moose Lodge any time after 11am. Boat or drive to draw 5 cards on the lake, and have your hand turned in by 3pm. 50/50 cash prizes also available! Such a fun event, rain or shine. $25 per player. ♠️♥️♣️♦️

Rochester City Fireworks (at airport) will be July 3rd at dusk this year. There are no scheduled lake fireworks at the south end. Be safe and have a great holiday weekend.
