Our fellow brother and Rochester training center instructor, Jason Schwingle has recently undergone open heart surgery. He is out of the hospital and at home recovering at this time and will be off of work for quite a while. His fellow co-workers at the Carpenters Training Institute have set up a GoFundMe for him to help with any expenses while he is off work recovering. The Local 1382 and other surrounding locals have made donations to help him during this time, but if you wish to make a personal donation to him and his family, please click on the link. A Signing Day event was held at the Carpenters Local 1382 Training Center on June 5, 2024. Congratulations to all of the students that were hired on by the different Union Contractors. November is the month of gratitude, and RPD is thankful for Jason Schwingle and the Carpenter’s Training Institute. Jason and the institute have shown unwavering support for the department and have shared their skills as well as their training space. Officer Tomic and Sergeants Tesdahl and Strop presented awards of appreciation earlier this week. Thank you!
