We are excited to share our first event for our Buffalo area families. 🤍

Mother’s Day can be especially heavy for those who have experienced pregnancy loss, stillbirth, infant loss, or the loss of a child.

International Bereaved Mother’s Day is a time to recognize and honor the love and grief that so many mothers carry, regardless of circumstance.

We invite you to join us for a gentle gathering to honor your motherhood in the company of others who understand. This will be a space to connect, reflect, and simply be.

Your ticket includes materials to create a personalized bracelet, along with light refreshments. You are welcome to come on your own or bring someone who would be honored to sit beside you and support you.

This event is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby or child. It will be a safe, compassionate space, and we would be honored to hold it with you. We also welcome you to share about your child, if and when you feel ready.

Registration is required, and space is limited. To reserve your spot, please visit the link in our Instagram bio or visit https://secure.qgiv.com/for/bmdcaml/event/bmde-wny2/

With deep gratitude to WNY Compassionate Connection for generously providing the space, bracelet materials, and refreshments.

In addition to providing free brochures to hospitals, we often include items they can also gift to families after their baby passes away. Swaddles are one of the most requested items.

Many times, pregnancy and infant loss is sudden and families arrive to the hospital with an empty bag. We know firsthand that any item that a bereaved family leaves the hospital with becomes a cherished keepsake.

We wouldn’t be able to provide these keepsakes without your help.

To see a list of swaddles we would be grateful to accept as donations, comment SWADDLE and we will send you a link to these soft, muslin blankets. 🤍

All items can ship to:
Star Legacy Foundation
6400 Flying Cloud Drive, Suite 225
Eden Prairie, MN 55344

Please include your name, email and/or mailing address on the gift receipt so we are able to express our deepest gratitude. 🤍

Thank you for supporting a bereaved family in need.

We also earn a small commission for each sale which goes back to one of our goals of supporting families for free after the loss of a baby to stillbirth, pregnancy loss and infant loss. 🤍

What a year 2025 has been! 💫

As this year comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for our Western New York community.

Our chapter would not exist without your generous gifts of dedication, time, services, and more. Each year we continue to be incredibly humbled by our community and most importantly the members of our chapter. Every moment of time is gifted with love some on behalf of their own babies, some on behalf of other babies, and some are passionate about supporting bereaved families. Whatever your “why” may be, thank you.

To the new families who found us this year, we are so sorry. We hope that our team has brought you a sense of comfort and community, knowing that you are never alone.

If you feel called to join our chapter, we would love to have you. Send us a DM to connect. 🫂

Cheers to 2025! We are excited to see what 2026 brings! 🥂

On the first night of Hanukkah, we pause to hold space for the children who should be here, lighting candles beside us and sharing in these moments with their families. For those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, holidays like Hanukkah can carry a deep ache and a reminder of who is missing. We are so sorry your baby is not here to be part of these memories.

As the candles are lit this week, we invite you to share your baby’s name below, if you feel comfortable. Saying their name matters, and they are not forgotten.

If you or someone you love is needing support this holiday season, please comment the word SUPPORT and we will send you information about our always free family support programs, including virtual support groups, peer support, and phone support.

You are not alone. 🤍

Holidays can be especially hard for those of us who have lived through pregnancy and child loss. Dr. Florescue (who is also certified) had a beautiful idea to remind patients at her practice that their babies are never far from our thoughts. In the office of UR Medicine Gynecology & Childbirth Associates, you’ll now find a basket filled with white stars, each one honoring a life gone too soon. Patients are welcome to take a star home and hang it on their tree or place it somewhere that feels right. They’re large enough to write a baby’s name if that brings comfort.

If you are missing a piece of your heart this holiday season, please know the WNY Chapter of Star Legacy Foundation is thinking of you and your child today and always. 🤍💫

Consider making a donation of $7 today, $1 for each year our chapter has been active.

These funds will go directly to supporting our free family support programs, mainly to help fund our free virtual support groups for one year.

Thank you for your incredible support over these last seven years. 🤍💫
