Each year, our volunteers create free personalized candle graphics with your baby’s name for you to share during the Wave of Light on October 15, and we’re honored to do it again this October. 🩷💙

We hope having your baby’s name on this candle is something you can hold close to your heart. A small way to remember your baby, honor their life, and remind yourself that they will always be a part of your story.

The volunteers who create these candles have experienced loss themselves, so they understand firsthand just how meaningful it can be to see your baby’s name and memory honored.

🕯️ To request your free personalized candle, type CANDLE GRAPIC below and we’ll send you the link. Please make sure to submit your baby’s name by October 8. Please also make sure you receive a confirmation email of your order.

The candles are completely free. If you would like to make a small donation in memory of your baby, we are always grateful. Your support helps us continue providing free programs and resources to families after pregnancy and infant loss, while also supporting research and education focused on making pregnancy and infant loss less prevalent.

Your baby’s name matters. Their life matters. And they will always be remembered. 💙🩷

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. 🩷💙

One in four pregnancies ends in loss. Behind that statistic are real babies, real families, and a lifetime of love and grief.

This month, we remember the babies who are deeply loved and deeply missed. We also share why Star Legacy Foundation exists: to support families, educate communities, advance research, and work toward a future where fewer families experience the heartbreak of pregnancy and infant loss.

Please join us for our annual Remembrance Ceremony to honor all who have been lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, or SIDS.

Open to all who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

Adults only, please.

Come for an evening filled with memory making, songs, readings, and a moment of silence to remember our babies.

Ceremony will be held at Unity Hospital in the Burton S. August Education and Conference Room and start promptly at 6:30 pm.

The Western New York Chapter of Star Legacy Foundation invites you to a special screening of Speaking Grief, an award-winning documentary that explores the realities of grief and the importance of creating a more compassionate, grief-aware society.

Following the film, we are honored to welcome Dr. Fran Haydanek (Dr. Fran (DO, FACOG) ) for a live Q&A discussing how social media can help bring awareness to topics that are too often left unspoken, especially pregnancy and infant loss.

Whether you have experienced the loss of a baby, support someone who has, work in healthcare, or simply want to better understand grief, this event is for you.

In addition to providing free brochures to hospitals, we often include items they can also gift to families after their baby passes away. Swaddles are one of the most requested items.

Many times, pregnancy and infant loss is sudden and families arrive to the hospital with an empty bag. We know firsthand that any item that a bereaved family leaves the hospital with becomes a cherished keepsake.

We wouldn’t be able to provide these keepsakes without your help.
