One of the most important things Rochester Main Street does is help keep downtown community programming free and accessible.

Events like the Kids Summer Series, Spooktacular/Pumpkin Patch, Zombie Walk, and Downtown Trick-or-Treat are designed so families can come downtown and participate without an admission fee.

That does not mean the events are free to produce. Supplies, entertainment, equipment, promotion, insurance, and other event expenses still have to be covered.

That is where our sponsors, Contributing Partners, volunteers, and community supporters make a real difference.

We still have some sponsorship opportunities available for 2026, and we are already preparing opportunities for 2027.

If you would like to receive our 2027 sponsorship package, please email Rochester Main Street and we will send it to you.

Know a business, organization, or community partner that may be interested in sponsoring an event or project? Share this post or tag them so we can help grow the network of businesses supporting downtown Rochester.

The more businesses that get involved, the more we are able to do downtown.

Rochester Main Street is grateful for the continued support of The Scenic Lounge, one of our Bedrock Partners.

Contributing Partners help make it possible for us to continue supporting downtown events, beautification projects, business development, and other work that strengthens downtown Rochester throughout the year.

Support at the Bedrock level represents a significant investment in that work and gives Rochester Main Street more capacity to move projects forward and respond to opportunities that benefit the downtown district.

Thank you to The Scenic Lounge for continuing to invest in downtown Rochester and support the work of Rochester Main Street.

The Rochester Zombie Walk is this Friday, October 23 at 7 PM.

If you have been thinking about joining the horde, now is the time to start putting together your zombie look and making plans to be downtown.

Guest zombies are welcome to join the walk, and there will be plenty happening downtown that evening, including Nevermore Nights and special Zombie Walk offerings from local businesses.

Businesses that are planning a Zombie Walk special, activity, themed menu item, extended hours, or other promotion should message Rochester Main Street so we can help let people know what will be happening downtown that night.

We are also still accepting a sponsor for this year’s Zombie Walk. Businesses or organizations interested in supporting the event can message us for details.

Board Member of the Month: Val Dunn

This month, Rochester Main Street is recognizing our newest board member, Val Dunn, owner of Progressive Esthetics.

Val has been a fierce supporter of downtown Rochester throughout her time as a downtown business owner. This year, Progressive Esthetics celebrated 10 years in downtown Rochester, having opened on North Main Street in 2016.

In addition to serving on the Rochester Main Street Board of Directors, Val also serves on our Design Committee, helping contribute to conversations and projects focused on the look, feel, and continued improvement of downtown.

And, in what may have been her bravest act of community service yet, Val was kind enough to take Ralph on as her teammate for our first Amazing Downtown Challenge.

Val brings the perspective of a longtime downtown business owner, committee volunteer, and now board member to the work Rochester Main Street does every day.

Thank you, Val, for continuing to invest your time, experience, energy, and apparently a fair amount of patience in downtown Rochester.

Interested in getting more involved with Rochester Main Street? Message us to learn more about our committees and volunteer opportunities.

A lot of the work that shapes downtown Rochester starts long before the public sees the finished project.

Rochester Main Street committees are already working on plans for 2027, reviewing ideas, identifying priorities, and deciding where time and resources can have the greatest impact.

This is one of the best times to get involved if you want a voice in what happens next.

If you are interested in helping shape future events, beautification projects, business support efforts, or other downtown initiatives, message Rochester Main Street and let us know you would like to learn more about joining a committee.

Planning is happening now. If you want to help influence what comes next, this is the time to get involved.

Do you own or operate a business in downtown Rochester?

Rochester Main Street is working to build a more complete picture of the businesses and entrepreneurs that make up our downtown, and we need your help.

We are asking all downtown businesses to complete the BOOMS for Business Intake Survey. This includes traditional storefront businesses, service businesses, independent professionals, micro-businesses, home-based businesses, and others doing business within the downtown area.

Why does this matter?

Having accurate information about the businesses operating downtown helps Rochester Main Street better understand the needs of our business community, identify opportunities for support, and build stronger data when we are researching and applying for grants and other funding opportunities.

The more complete our information is, the better we can represent downtown Rochester when looking for resources, programs, partnerships, and funding that may benefit local businesses and the district as a whole.

If you operate a business in the downtown area, message Rochester Main Street and we will send you the survey link.

Even if you do not have a traditional storefront, we want to hear from you.

Help us make sure downtown Rochester’s business community is fully represented.
