Please join us for an easy-paced hike on the Root River Park trail this Saturday! The route will be approximately 2 miles, and we expect to be hiking for about 1 hour. We will pause occasionally to enjoy the scenery.

📍 Meeting location:4012 80th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904

Date: September 5th🕘 Time: 9:00 AM

Free parking is available near the meeting area. The planned pace is about 25 minutes per mile. Note that pace may vary depending on weather, group size, and trail conditions.

Join us on September 5th (weather permitting) for trail work on Entry Fee trail at Gamehaven Park. See below for the details!

-What is the build? Creating a rock garden at the end of Entry Fee
-What does the work entail? Gathering rocks from the surrounding hillside and strategically placing them to build a fun rock garden to finish out the trail!
-When do we meet? 10 am on Saturday September 5th
-Where do we meet? This is where it gets complicated. The Scouts are giving us special permission to use their parking lot on a day they normally have it closed off.

That address is 5015 Simpson rd SE. So if you can be there between 9:50-10:10 am then you can meet there. After 10:10 I will be closing the gate. If you can’t make it by that time, it's okay! You can park at the city lot and ride or hike to the trail location. If you do park at the scouts lot and need to leave early just let me know and I can open the gate back up so you can get out!

-What do I need to bring? Gloves, water, sun screen, bug spray, and a can-do attitude. We will supply all the necessary tools.

If you are on the Rochester Mountain Bike Team, you can use this opportunity as hours towards lettering!

We hope to see a good group out to help with this awesome project. Working with rocks is tough but rewarding work. More good rock gardens means more opportunities to build skills on the bike! There may be opportunities to work on other parts of the trails as well, depending on the turnout.

Northern Heights Trail is CLOSED until further notice. Unfortunately due to last night’s storm, a tree has fallen on one of the bridges and will need some time before we can repair it.

If you have enjoyed this trail over the past two years, please consider donating to us to help cover lumber costs. The construction and upkeep of these trails and bridges is done with volunteer time and funding!

We have informed Parks & Rec about removing the very large trees that are beyond our capability as volunteer partners. One of them is quite dangerous so please stay off the trail until they are taken care of.

Check out the action from our first Rochester Mountain Bike Team race of the season at Schindler’s Way in Austin, MN. Nervous starts, fast trails, big efforts, and a whole lot of RMBT cheering made for a great opening weekend and a bunch of top 10 finishes!

Dirty RASCals ride from Zumbro Falls Golf Club this Thursday at 6pm.

Bring lights! Bring friends! Catch sunsets! Our longer routes cross the Zumbro River three times and pass through Mazeppa. Our shortest option hugs the Zumbro River and passes through Hammond. It's the perfect route for testing out gravel or for bringing friends new to gravel. Mario Franzone is leading this scenic17 mile option. After the ride, gather for food, drink, and conversation in the golf club's enclosed patio.

Attention Trail Volunteers! This Sunday's trail work will be at Northern Heights (instead of the usual Gamehaven). We have three short segments to be re-routed. We got half of it done on Wednesday as shown in the progress pics, and we plan on finishing the rest this weekend.

Please meet at the trailhead at 2pm. Brush clearing tools will be provided, however if you have your own please bring them. If you own a McLeod or any dirt tools, please bring them as we will be doing dirt work.

Also, a huge THANK YOU to those who came out on Wednesday!
