Elder Network Elder Network is a nonprofit organization serving those 55 and older and their caregivers in Dodge, Goodhue, Olmsted, Winona and Wabasha counties since 1988.

Elder Network has been successful in assisting seniors to improve and enhance their quality of life; returning the feeling of meaningfulness and contentment. Elder Network is a great asset to our community, and is proud and honored to serve seniors – helping them live with dignity. Elder Network is in need of volunteers who can spend 1-2 hours visiting with older adults in Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona Counties. We train our volunteers, and match according to your schedule, interests, and personality. This is such a meaningful service to isolated older adults with few opportunities to socialize. Do you need a break from caregiving for your own medical appointments, a nap, time to get groceries, start up a hobby you miss, or other tasks to improve your own self-care? We provide In-Home Volunteer Respite (2-3 hours of respite-a break-for you, while a trained volunteer watches over the individual you care for), as well as Companion (paid staff who provide light housekeeping, errands with or on the behalf of the person you support, meal preparation, home organization, filing, conversation/socialization, etc.). Considering a change in where you live? You do not have to navigate this important decision alone.
HOME is a free support program that connects you with someone local who has firsthand experience making a housing transition. Through shared experiences, guidance, and encouragement, you can explore your options and make informed decisions about your future.

HOME is a collaborative program created through the partnership of Elder Network and Family Service Rochester. The program helps older adults in Olmsted County plan for housing transitions with confidence and peace of mind.

Participants are matched with trained volunteer mentors who have experienced a housing transition themselves. These mentors provide support, insight, and practical information as you consider one of the most significant life changes many older adults face.

Plan ahead before a crisis limits your housing choices
Reduce stress and uncertainty for you and your family
Better understand the financial aspects of a move
Gain confidence in your decision-making process
