Please consider a donation to help 'fill the gap' in local services. There is a great need for an Upstate NY eating disorder residential program. All adolescents currently need to go at least 5 hours away for residential treatment, and the majority have to go out of state, leaving behind their families, friends, and health care team. A GoFundMe site has been set up toward this goal: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-fill-the-gap-teen-residential-treatment

The WNYCCCED fulfills its education and outreach mission primarily through Project ECHO Eating Disorders, a virtual learning community to increase community providers' knowledge and skill at treating and supporting people with eating disorders and their families. Project ECHO started at the Univ. of NM and has spread around the world, increasing knowledge to better serve people in remote places that don't have the resources they need. This video from the ECHO Institute shows how it is being used in India and Namibia today, as examples: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__unm.us15.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3D0a75704ef6816d86a64d5a1b1-26id-3D912d3d105a-26e-3D214c47da0b&d=DwMFaQ&c=4sF48jRmVAe_CH-k9mXYXEGfSnM3bY53YSKuLUQRxhA&r=7RasX_1DkSDo95lIwMXpzhN8kW5cJ7L6ff46Qd1-ebM&m=TCRj7FQokxMPUvO_m1f9_xdH7V5b_hNiJ44W8TNOkyo&s=hB0r20ZPCdhTSiAs1OKwlS-wBf_-ZTv2cvLCahC0ad0&e= Contact [email protected] for more information

The place for hope, help, and healing

The Western NY Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders (WNYCCCED) aims to connect you with the right information, the right resources, and the right people to help you or your loved one move ahead in recovery. The Center serves as the hub for eating disorder services in the 30-county Western New York Region. Between 20,000 and 30,000 individuals living within the Western New York service region have an eating disorder.

Directed out of the University of Rochester School of Nursing, the WNYCCCED is a partnership between the University of Rochester School of Nursing and the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Program at Golisano Children’s Hospital. It is one of three legislatively mandated comprehensive care centers for eating disorders funded by the New York State Department of Health.

We also work with three affiliate sites, including:

  • Transitional Living Services of Northern NY (care management in Watertown, NY)
