Southeast Minnesota educators are in St. Cloud this week as part of Minnesota’s New CTE Teacher Induction Program (TIP).

TIP is a yearlong program designed to support newer Career and Technical Education teachers through professional learning, collaboration, mentoring, and connections with fellow CTE educators from across Minnesota.

It’s great to see educators from Southeast Minnesota taking part, building relationships, and bringing new ideas and resources back to their students and schools.

Career & Technical Education leaders from across Minnesota are gathering in St. Cloud today and tomorrow for the Lead CTE Network Fall Conference, part of the Minnesota Service Cooperatives’ work to strengthen CTE opportunities statewide.

The two-day conference focuses on Minnesota labor market trends, innovative CTE practices, work-based learning, funding, licensure and planning for the year ahead.

Today’s sessions include “Signals and Pathways: What Minnesota’s Labor Market Is Telling CTE,” featuring DEED Regional Labor Market Analyst Luke Greiner.

Bringing school leaders together to share ideas, learn from one another and strengthen career-connected pathways helps create more opportunities for Minnesota students.

Congratulations to U.S. Senator Tina Smith on receiving the 2026 AESA Congressional Service Award!

Southeast Service Cooperative nominated Senator Smith on behalf of the Minnesota Service Cooperatives and the Minnesota STEM Ecosystem. The award recognizes her support for education, workforce development and regional partnerships across Minnesota.

SSC is working with employers across Southeast Minnesota to identify student internship opportunities, and we want to better understand what schools are looking for.

These career-connected learning experiences may range from a few days to several weeks, a semester, or other longer-term opportunities, depending on the employer and the needs of the school.

If your school is helping students connect with internship opportunities, please complete our short form and tell us what types of careers or industries students are interested in, how many students may participate, and what kind of experience you are seeking.

Minnesota students and parents: Here’s a chance to have your voice heard — and get a firsthand look at how statewide education policy and recommendations are developed!

The Minnesota Department of Education is seeking both students and parents or connected adults to serve on its new Testing and Assessment Task Force. Participants will help review Minnesota’s statewide assessment system and contribute to conversations about its future.

For students interested in education, teaching, public policy, government, research or data, this can also be a unique career exploration experience — an opportunity to see how state-level processes, collaboration and decision-making work.

For parents and connected adults, it’s an opportunity to bring family perspectives into statewide conversations about assessment and student learning.

The task force will meet monthly from late October 2026 through March 2027.

Applications are due October 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

October is Manufacturing Month, and across Southeast Minnesota, students are getting the chance to see careers in action.

Through manufacturing tours, FutureForward™, Bus on Us, Construct Tomorrow, and strong regional partnerships, Southeast Service Cooperative is helping connect students with employers, workplaces, and career opportunities they may not have considered before.

These experiences help students understand how classroom learning connects to real careers, while giving employers an opportunity to introduce young people to the people, technology, and pathways that make modern manufacturing possible.

Drone grant opportunities are available now for southeast Minnesota schools interested in bringing drones into STEM learning or starting a competitive drone team.

Two current REC Foundation grants can help schools get started with CoDrone EDU equipment and program support.

Applications are due by September 30.
