In partnership with the Blood Bank at the University of Rochester, CHS is proud to announce the go live of our "zero waste" Prehospital Blood Program. To our understanding, we are the first ground EMS agency in NYS to carry blood. The evidence throughout the country proves that this resource will save many lives in our community. This project was a results of countless hours of documentation, training, testing, and the support of numerous people. We are thrilled to make this resource available to our patients.

Today, we pause to remember September 11th, 2001 - a day that changed our nation forever.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless acts of courage and compassion that emerged from this tragedy.

We honor the first responders who ran toward danger when others ran from it. We remember our fallen brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of others. Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, and Police Officers were more than the uniforms they wore and the calls they answered. They were parents, spouses, children, siblings, friends, and neighbors. They had lives waiting for them beyond that morning - lives that were cut short. Today, we honor their courage, remember.

Big congratulations to our employees who participated in the First Responder 5K. They ran as a team and our agency won! Woohoo! It is so important to keep up with wellness activities and physical fitness for our mental and physical health. We are so proud of all of you!

We have placed our newest vehicle in service. This is a UTV with a small ambulance box on the back. The back holds a full size stretcher with plenty of room for an EMT or Paramedic. This vehicle will be used for emergency responses and also available for event standbys. It will be an excellent resource for accessing patients in remote locations while allowing care to be provided during extrication to an ambulance.
