MagiKids by Weirdcards 😊

The first eight-week session of the new Magic: The Gathering Sportsmanship Group at our Residential campus concluded with a client tournament! Tournament standings were determined not only by wins and losses, but by how each client was able to participate with peers and staff week after week and exhibit aspects of good sportsmanship such as being humble when we win, gracious when we lose, and helpful and respectful to our peers as we learn.
A huge thank you to the non-profit organization MagiKids (Weirdcards Charitable Club) for their incredible donation of all the supplies we needed to make this group possible! Beyond the material donations, the MagiKids teaching model of “Sort, Build, Play” worked wonderfully for the clients in our facility.
Our team would also like to thank Erie’s local gaming shops for their support and suggestions throughout this group, most notably Gateway Games, HDLegacy Card Shop, and new to the area, In The Zone Gaming Erie. Thank you for helping to provide a group the clients and staff truly enjoyed!
And a big round of applause to our activities coordinator, Scott McKay, who gave his time and talents to create and lead this awesome group!
