Artists Unlimited

Artists Unlimited Artists Unlimited is celebrating its 20th anniversary! Artists Unlimited is unlike anything you’ve seen before….

The sole mission of Artists Unlimited is to offer individuals with special needs the opportunity to perform and showcase their talents in a safe haven, and without the barriers or stereotypes often attributed to those who are disabled. We provide opportunity’s for, and celebrates the considerable talents of individuals with developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities. We offer a truly unique and expressive experience to those individuals who may not otherwise have an opportunity to participate as actors in other venues. In our 20 years we’ve produced dozens of musicals — featuring dazzling sets and costumes, a magnificent orchestra, flying sequences and of course our world-class performers. Popular family-friendly hits in our lineup have included: Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Shrek The Musical. This year Artists Unlimited is performing: Roald Dahl’s - W***y Wonka! Help celebrate the 20th anniversary with Artists Unlimited by joining us and helping us

CAST SPOTLIGHT: JORDAN AS CAPTAIN HOOK 🏴‍☠️

Look out, Neverland… Captain Hook has arrived!

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Jordan, who is taking on the role of the infamous Captain Hook in our 25th Anniversary production of Peter Pan🪝

Jordan has been part of the Artists Unlimited family since 2012…14 years! His very first AU production was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Talk about a full-circle moment…in 2025, Jordan stepped into the title role of Joseph! Now, just one year later, he’s trading in the coat of many colors for a hook and heading to Neverland!

For Jordan, Artists Unlimited has always been about so much more than what happens on stage. It’s family💛

Through joyful moments and heartbreaking losses, Jordan says the love, support and care of this community has remained a constant in his life.

In his own words:

“Artists Unlimited IS my family and always will be.”

And that is exactly what 25 years of Artists Unlimited is all about❤️

We can’t wait for you to see Jordan bring Captain Hook to life when Peter Pan takes the stage THIS WEEK!

CAST SPOTLIGHT: JENNA AS PETER PAN!

Today’s spotlight is extra special! Meet Jenna, our Peter Pan in Artists Unlimited’s 25th Anniversary production! 💚

Jenna joined AU when she was in middle school 20 years ago, at the suggestion of her school’s music teacher, who had heard about a group giving kids with special needs an opportunity to shine.

Twenty years later, Jenna has performed in an incredible 19 Artists Unlimited shows! She took just one year off while attending SUNY Geneseo to focus on her studies, but even then, the rest of her family kept volunteering. (Just try getting Dan away from those mics! 🎤😂)

After nearly two decades on our stage, Peter Pan marks Jenna’s first lead role! And while this is certainly her time to shine, what makes Jenna so special is how genuinely proud and supportive she is of everyone around her.

When asked recently about this year’s show, Jenna summed up the spirit of Artists Unlimited perfectly:

“We all have special talents and we all encourage each other to do our best!”

That’s what AU is all about❤️

Now it’s Jenna’s turn to FLY, and we cannot wait for you to see her take center stage as Peter Pan! ✨

“Because of Artists Unlimited, I am a better person.”

That may be one of the most powerful ways to describe the impact of Artists Unlimited.

In this final part of our story, you’ll hear from a parent and board member, a volunteer, our vocal director, and our founder, Ed Schram, about what happens when Artists Unlimited becomes part of your life.

⭐️You learn to look beyond a first impression and truly see the person in front of you.
⭐️You learn what inclusion looks like when it isn’t something you simply talk about, it’s just the way a community lives.
⭐️You walk into a room where everyone is welcomed exactly as they are. Where differences are celebrated. Where there is no judgment. Where people lift one another up.

One person in this video says, “I wish the whole world functioned the way Artists Unlimited does.”

We do too.

Because while our volunteers may come to AU thinking about what they can give to our cast, so many discover something unexpected:

❤️This cast gives to us far more than we could ever give to them.❤️

They change perspectives. They open hearts. They teach us about joy, acceptance, friendship and what it really means to see someone for everything they ARE.

And now, we need YOU to show up for them.

Our incredible cast has worked so hard for this moment, and they deserve to look out from that stage and see a FULL audience there to celebrate them, cheer them on and experience everything they have to share.

If these stories have moved you, come experience Artists Unlimited for yourself. Help us fill those seats for our 25th Anniversary production of Peter Pan and give this amazing cast the audience they deserve.
