Bayern Verein Alpengrün We are always looking for new members! Prost! You can find us entertaining at local festivals, fund raisers and nursing homes.

From Rochester NY, the Bayern-Verein Alpengrün was founded in 1932, and carries on the customs, costumes, and traditional folk dancing of Bavaria (Southern Germany). The Bayern-Verein Alpengrün was founded in 1932 by Bavarian immigrants with the purpose of carrying on the customs and costumes and traditional folk dancing of Bavaria. The Bavarian Verein Alpengrün is comprised of enthusiastic children and adults that enjoy Schuhplattlers, figure dances, German music, and Gemütlichkeit ["good times”].Everyone, even non-dancers, with a love of the German culture is welcome to join our activities! We also travel to attend dances hosted by our friends in both neighboring cities and across North America. We gladly give presentations and school demonstrations on all aspects of Bavarian dancing and traditions. Everyone is welcome to be part of our wonderful German cultural tradition!

While we still have a few private performances ahead, Fairport Oktoberfest marks the end of our 7-weekend Oktoberfest celebration; and what a way to go out with a bang! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our traditions and clubs by playing the games, enjoying the festivities, and celebrating with us.
