More than 2,400 homeless students were identified within the city.The city has experienced a 34% increase in homelessness over the last six years, driven by a shortage of affordable housing, rising rents, and overstretched shelters.

This is why Descendants of Abraham is making efforts to start out shalter program!

Yes, local police can, and in certain situations are expected to, protect citizens against actions by federal officials that exceed their legal authority or violate state/local laws. However, they cannot be "forced" to do so by private citizens, nor can they legally block legitimate federal operations due to the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

Actions Outside Scope of Duty: Federal agents (such as ICE, FBI, CBP) are not immune from state or local laws if they act beyond the scope of their lawful duties, violate federal law, or act in an "egregious or unwarranted manner".

State Police Power: Under the 10th Amendment, states have the primary police power to ensure the health and safety of their citizens. This authorizes local authorities to intervene when federal actors exceed their legal bounds.
Arrest Power: Local police can arrest federal agents for violating state or local laws.
