👟 What an incredible day for OPC’s Annual 5K Run/Walk for Meals on Wheels! We are so grateful for the amazing community support that made this event such a success. From the perfect weather to the sea of cheerful yellow race shirts, the energy and generosity throughout the day were truly inspiring.

💜 Thanks to all who participated, volunteered, donated, and cheered us on, we welcomed more than 350 participants — plus even more guests who joined us for pancakes afterward! Together, we raised over $42,000 to support Meals on Wheels and help provide nutritious meals and caring connections to local seniors. A special shout-out goes to the individuals and teams who created their own fundraisers for the cause... collectively, they contributed more than $3,000 toward our total!

🫶 A heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors for helping make this event possible:
Pixley Funeral Home, Controller Technologies, Henry Ford Health Rochester Hospital, Geneva Stephens Memorial, First State Bank - Michigan, Diliberti Bros, Bowman Chevrolet, Aetna, Comfort Keepers In-Home Care of Farmington, MI, and The Courtyard at Auburn Hills.

🥞 Special thanks as well to King Pancake , Tim Hortons, Trader Joe’s, and Sam's Club for helping keep everyone fueled and smiling throughout the morning!

Now that we’ve moved for Meals on Wheels, it’s time to groove for the cause! Join us at our Summer Soiree for Meals on Wheels on June 19th for another fun and meaningful evening supporting local seniors.

Tickets are available on our website at www.opccenter.org or by calling 248-659-1029.

Join us for a Panel Discussion on Aging in Metro Detroit
Wednesday, June 10 at 6pm at OPC

Metro Detroit's aging population will soon reshape our city services, taxes, housing, and health care. Between 2020 and 2030, the number of residents 65 and older across the region is projected to grow by 22%. By 2050, this age group is expected to jump by more than 80% in some local communities.

An expert panel will explore the findings from a recent series in The Detroit News and discuss the widespread impacts of this major demographic shift. Refreshments will be served.

Register by calling 248-659-1029.

What an incredible evening at OPC's first Parkinson’s Workshop last night!

We were honored to welcome more than 170 attendees for an evening focused on education, movement, support, and community for those impacted by Parkinson’s disease.

One attendee said it best: "The most helpful part of this event was knowing that other people are going through some of the same issues I am - that I am not alone in this."

A special thank you to keynote speaker Dr. Peter LeWitt for his presentation, “Understanding Parkinson’s Disease,” and live Q&A session. Thank you as well to Ali from Dance for Parkinson's Disease for leading gentle movement exercises designed for individuals living with Parkinson’s.

The evening also featured community panel discussions, information about OPC’s Parkinson’s programs and support groups, and exhibitors including Quest Research Institute, Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s, Michigan Parkinson Foundation, Take Root, and more.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success, and a special thank you to Community Foundation of Greater Rochester for the grant support that made it possible! 🌷 💜
