Events like these strengthen our collective ability to serve farmworkers, immigrant families, and rural communities throughout the Finger Lakes.

On April 22, 2026, community leader and immigrant rights advocate Dolores Bustamante was arrested and detained after attending a routine ICE check-in in Buffalo. Her legal team will present evidence that she was illegally targeted for her advocacy and organizing work.

Dolores has lived in this country for 23 years and has fought her deportation case for 12. She is a beloved community leader who has dedicated her life to supporting others — not someone who should be criminalized or deported.

🚨 This is what community response looks like. 🤝🏽

On May 18, Enlace Services responded to an ICE enforcement incident in Rochester to support impacted families, connect residents with legal resources, and ensure community members understood their rights during a deeply distressing situation.
“This was an emotional and deeply distressing situation for everyone involved, especially for the children who witnessed the fear and uncertainty caused by ICE agents surrounding their homes,” said Maria Garcia, Program Director at Enlace Services. “Our role was to ensure community members had support and knew they were not facing this alone.”

We are deeply grateful to the parents, neighbors, advocates, and community members who came together to protect and support this family. ❤️
