Providing opportunities for merit badge achievement, rank advancement, and skill acquisition through a flexible “Scout Customized Program.”

Camp Barton is a historic Scout camp located at Frontenac Point on Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. The program is led by a dedicated and experienced staff who continue Camp Barton’s time-honored traditions while delivering a quality Scouting program.

Please see the message below from Scout Executive Jonathan Widmark as we remember and honor the life and service of Chris Bjorling-
It is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of our friend and fellow Scouter, Chris Bjorling, Vice President of District Operations for the Greater Finger Lakes Council.
Chris dedicated countless years of service to Scouting and to the youth and volunteers of our council. An Eagle Scout, former District Chairman, and former Council Commissioner, Chris exemplified the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law throughout his life. His leadership, commitment, and unwavering passion for Scouting left a lasting impact on our council and on the many lives he touched.
During this difficult time, we ask that you keep Chris's wife, Heidi, and their children in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn this tremendous loss.
Please join us in remembering Chris with gratitude for his extraordinary service and in honoring the legacy he leaves behind.

Wood Badge at Tuscarora Scout Reservation!

Wood Badge is important training designed to challenge us, test our limits, offer insight into the emotional roller coaster of our Scouts as they advance through the program, give meaning to time spent in Scouting and make the job as a leader easier.

It might also just be the most fun you’ll have as a Scout leader.

There are two parts to the course, attendance is required at both -- Sept. 25-27 and Oct 17-18, 2026

EAGLE SCOUT LEGEND: STEVEN SPIELBERG—Long before Steven Spielberg became one of the most influential filmmakers in history, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

His journey behind the camera even has roots in Scouting. While working toward the Photography merit badge, a young Spielberg created an 8mm film, helping spark a lifelong passion for visual storytelling.

From Jaws and E.T. to Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List, Spielberg went on to shape generations of filmmaking. In 1989, he was also recognized with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

His story is a reminder that the skills, interests, and confidence developed through Scouting can become the foundation for extraordinary things.

Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.
