Hello! My name is Sarah, I’m the current treasurer for GVRRID.
Hello, I’m Mike, current Vice President for GVRRID.
GVRRID is now accepting nominations to join our board. Are you or someone you know interested in helping support interpreters throughout Rochester and the Genesee Valley area? At this time, there are many vacant positions available to run for, and our election will happen towards the end of June.

We are currently seeking nominations for the following positions:
President for a two-year term starting in July.
Secretary for a two-year term starting in July.
Deaf Member at Large for a three-year term starting in July.
Student Interpreter Representative for a one-year term starting in September.

We are also hosting a special election for two Members at Large for a term from July 1, 2026 until June 30, 2028.

Hello,

Genesee Valley Region RID thanks you for your patience as we finalized the 2024 board member election process. We have elected a new Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These three positions each had one uncontested candidate and our secretary cast a vote as indicated by our bylaws that can be found at, https://www.gvrrid.org/gvrrid-bylaws.

We are thrilled to announce that our incoming board members are:

Vice President: Mabel Najarro-Tibbs
Secretary: Benjamin Leyer
Treasurer: Michael Fisher

With the conclusion of this election, the President and Student Representative positions remain open. We hope to recruit and appoint a student representative in the fall when colleges are back in session. While the President role remains vacant, the Vice President will perform necessary duties of that office with the support of the other board members.

We are excited for the future of our organization that these new faces bring!
