A South Carolina jury has found 61 year old convenience store owner Chikei Rick Chow not guilty of murder in the fatal shooting of 14 year old Cyrus Carmack-Belton.

Chow pursued Carmack-Belton on foot from his Columbia, S.C. gas station after wrongly suspecting the teen of shoplifting water, ultimately shooting the unarmed teenager in the back.

Chow, who is Asian, maintained he acted in self-defense and fired his weapon to protect his son during the chase.
