[Image description: Weather radar centered on Ohio with a banner at the top that says "snowfall totals by Monday AM." From top left to bottom right there are three colored sections over the state of Ohio: pink that indicates less than one inch, purple that is two to four inches, and blue that is four to six inches. Together it looks like the bisexual pride flag. Caption says "Diversity win! The snowstorm keeping you from going to work is bisexual."]

If you’re going on the Eastman trip tomorrow, check your email for details about meeting up and transportation!

Unfortunately despite our best efforts we couldn’t find any way to get wheelchair accessible transportation, so if you need that just talk to us and we’ll figure it out.

Hey if you’re an LGBTQ+ person who has ever felt like you’re “not gay enough”, or “not trans enough”, or “not bi enough”, or “not ace enough”, or “not q***r enough” (and let’s face, it, that’s all of us) -

You are enough. The only right way to be LGBTQ+ is to be authentic to yourself. No one can decide who you are except you.

You are valid and loved. 💗🧡💛💚💙💜"

This is something I've been planning to organize since this summer, and OUTspoken is thrilled to say that we are finally doing it! The George Eastman Museum is hosting an exhibit called To Survive on This Shore (https://www.eastman.org/tsots), consisting of photos and interviews with trans/gender non-conforming older adults, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to learn more about our history and visit one of Rochester's most prominent museums. The trip will be taking place on Reading Day, which is Tuesday, December 7th, from noon to two o'clock. Still on the fence? What if I told you that both transportation and tickets would be provided by OUTspoken? It's free (real estate). If you want to join us, please RSVP to the CampusGroups event (https://cglink.me/2d1/r1384436) by November 23rd, the last day before Thanksgiving Break. This is super important because we need to know how many tickets to buy and how many people will be needing transportation, so registration will close at the end of the day. (To clarify, I mean the end of the 23rd at 11:59 PM.)

If you know me, you know that I'm all about accessibility, so we will be working to get transportation with wheelchair lifts, and you can check out the details of the museum's accessibility here (https://www.eastman.org/accessibility-museum). As we get closer to the event we will have more information about when and where to meet on campus, but we plan to arrive at the museum at noon, and leave at two. If you have your own transportation, feel free to meet us there, just let us know on the RSVP form. It won't be a formal guided tour, so feel free to explore the museum at your own pace. I know that was a lot of information, so if you have any questions just let us know!

For over five years, photographer Jess T. Dugan and social worker Vanessa Fabbre traveled throughout the United States documenting the life stories of transgender and gender nonconforming older adults, individuals whose experiences exist within the complex intersections of gender identity, age, race...
