This is such an excellent ruling. This is what the United States is really like at its best. But I am afraid that the right wing, Trump favoring Supreme Court will strike it down.

A federal judge on Friday ruled that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration had adopted a ‌series of unlawful policies that have barred people from 39 countries from receiving decisions on applications for asylum, work permits, green cards and citizenship.

Gemma is breaking our hearts.

Back in April, she was rescued by our Animal Law Enforcement team from a home with nearly 100 other animals. Despite everything she’d been through, Gemma had the waggiest tail, a sweet personality, and so much love to give. We truly thought she’d be one of the firsts to find a home.

But somehow, six weeks later, Gemma is still here.

She’s gone to events. She’s made lots of friends. Staff and volunteers adore her. She’s open to meeting other dogs and savvy kids, and more than anything, she’s ready for a family of her own.

We know Gemma’s perfect match is out there.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please come meet her. And if you can’t adopt, sharing her story could help her find the person she’s been waiting for.
