This June, Zeta Amicae of Monroe County proudly joins in celebrating Caribbean American Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich cultures, traditions, resilience, and countless contributions of Caribbean Americans throughout our communities and across the nation.

From the vibrant rhythms of the islands to the enduring legacy of leadership, innovation, and service, Caribbean Americans continue to shape and strengthen the fabric of our society. We recognize and celebrate the diversity, history, and achievements of those whose roots trace back to the Caribbean.

As women dedicated to service, sisterhood, and community impact, we embrace this opportunity to learn, appreciate, and uplift the voices and stories that enrich our world.

As we celebrate fifteen years of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, we thought: what better way to honor the legacy of our Five Pearls than by than by giving back to the community we proudly serve? This campaign will support our community partners who are dedicated to empowering and uplifting youth throughout the Greater Rochester community. Zeta Amicae of Monroe County like to welcome our new Sister Amica Jocelyn Dixon to the fold. Amica Jocelyn is a Healthcare professional by day, book lover and foodie by heart. As a Senior Ambulatory Operations Specialist at UR Medicine, she is passionate about supporting exceptional patient care behind the scenes.

When she is not working, you’ll find her spending time with her amazing 17-year-old son and energetic 10-year-old nephew, getting outside during the summer months, listening to great music, or curled up with a good book. She loves creating comfort through food, and her macaroni and cheese and strawberry banana pudding have earned a reputation among family and friends. She believes life’s best moments are found in meaningful connections, good conversations, and making memories with the people you love.

Each year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated reaffirms its unwavering commitment to eradicating sexual and domestic violence while standing in solidarity with survivors.

Why Denim?👖In 1992, the Italian Supreme Court overturned a r**e conviction, arguing that because the victim’s jeans were tight, she must have helped remove them — falsely equating this as consent. This injustice sparked a global movement, reminding us that there is never an excuse, nor an invitation for sexual violence.

Sexual and domestic violence know no boundaries, affecting individuals from all walks of life. As sisters, we must shatter the silence, raise awareness, and empower survivors on their journey to healing.

💙 Let’s send a clear message: Abuse has no place in our communities. Join us in wearing your denim and pearls to raise awareness, and post your selfies while tagging us! Together, we can make a difference.
