Five hours of cleaning and we finished both sides of the outer glass wall and the fronts of the cases. Also cleaned inside the right case which involved removing all the shelves. We reconfigured the shelves in that case and added about 40% more display space for our next exhibit!

Check out the newest addition to the collection - the original artwork for the Otetiana Council Trail medal. This medal was awarded to Scouts who completed a number of tasks related to the former Erie Canal historic trail. Efforts are under way to bring back this trail as well as a new medal to recognize meritorious efforts by Scouts to preserve both this trail as well as the Lost City of Tryon Trail.

Did you know - the first three Eagle Scouts in Rochester were adults? The fourth, George Batterson, was the first youth to receive the award. George went on to own a family moving company and also helped found the Antique Wireless Association due to his passion for the hobby since a young Scout. At the time of his death in 1993 he was the oldest Eagle Scout in the area. The AWA owns the wireless set that was used at our summer camp in the 1920’s - Camp Otetiana.
