EARLY VOTING IS OPEN!

For the past month, Pamoja Women has been out in the community providing civic education, helping people understand the voting process, and making sure our voices are heard.

Primary Election Day is August 11!

✈️ Bird Fever… and Airplane Fever! 🌤️

Our Pamoja Women Summer Enrichment youth had an amazing day filled with creativity, imagination, and outdoor fun!

The day started with Bird Fever, as our young artists transformed simple paper plates into colorful birds, each with its own unique personality and design. Through art, they practiced creativity, fine motor skills, and self-expression while having a great time together.

Then we took the fun outside and put our engineering skills to the test by folding and flying paper airplanes! The children experimented with different designs, tested how far their airplanes could fly, and cheered each other on as they launched them into the sky. It was a perfect way to combine science, problem-solving, teamwork, and lots of laughter.

At Pamoja Women, every activity is an opportunity to learn, explore, and build confidence while making lasting memories.

What a fun-filled day of creativity and flight! 🐦✈️💙

The entire Pamoja Women Organization team is so proud of the amazing work and accomplishments she has achieved not for herself, but for our community. Her vision, dedication, and leadership continue to inspire us every day.

Pamoja Women Organization was created to be a bridge between our community and the broader community, and that mission continues to guide everything we do. We may be a small grassroots organization, but we see ourselves as giants because of the lives we touch and the partnerships we build.

None of this would be possible without our incredible supporters. We are fueled by your generosity, and your donations continue to create meaningful change every single day. Every contribution helps us empower women, support youth, feed families, improve health outcomes, and build a stronger, more connected community.

Thank you to United Way of Southeast Minnesota for recognizing our Executive Director and for believing in the work of grassroots organizations like Pamoja Women Organization. We are honored to stand alongside partners who believe that lasting change happens when communities come together.

For Khadija Ali, the work of Pamoja Women begins with listening. What started as two women helping neighbors navigate barriers has grown into a trusted community resource for East African women and families in Rochester.

Pamoja Women helps ensure community members do not have to navigate systems alone. United Way funds Pamoja Women’s Auxiliary Services, also known as Health Access, which helps women and children of East African descent access and understand health and wellness resources. Pamoja Women also offers transportation to appointments, interpretation, and doula services. Khadija describes their role simply and powerfully: being the bridge.

🇸🇴💙🎉 Happy Somali Independence Day! 🎉💙🇸🇴

Today we proudly celebrate 66 years of Somali Independence a beautiful reminder of our history, culture, resilience, and unity as Somali people.

It is also amazing that this year we celebrate Somalia turning 66 and the United States turning 250. What a powerful and joyful moment to honor both the homeland that raised us and the country where we continue to build, grow, and create a future for our children. 🇸🇴🇺🇸

From our Somali dances, food, language, faith, flag, and traditions, to the strength of our families and community, we carry Somalia in our hearts everywhere we go.

From all of us at Pamoja Women Organization, we wish everyone a beautiful and joyful Somali Independence Day!

Thank you so much to The Village Agricultural Cooperative and the Village Grows Fund for this incredible gift of fresh, locally grown greens.

For many of the families we serve, these are not just vegetables they are foods they grew up eating and often cultivated in their home countries. Seeing these familiar greens brings back memories of home, family, and tradition. It provides comfort during the challenges of building a new life in a new country.

We are so grateful to help our community on this journey by offering a reminder of home while helping families nourish themselves with fresh, healthy, and culturally familiar foods.

Thank you for investing in local farmers while making it possible for immigrant and refugee families to reconnect with the foods that are part of their heritage. Partnerships like this make a lasting difference, and we are honored to work together to build a healthier, more connected community.

The Village Grows fund allowed us to purchase all of these gorgeous greens from three of our farmers at the end of yesterday's market. This morning they were delivered to one of our partners, Pamoja Women 's food pantry.

These funds do double duty: supporting our emerging farmers and getting food to our neighbors who need it!

🎉 GAME DAY fun at Pamoja! 🎉

Today our Pamoja youth enjoyed UNO, Dragonfly, and Spot It filled with laughter, friendly competition, quick thinking, and big smiles! 🃏👀💙

We are so proud of these little leaders as they learn through play, practice teamwork, build focus, and encourage one another.

We also want to say thank you to everyone who continues to support Pamoja Women Organization. Your support helps us create moments like this for our youth and families.

❤️ Thank You to Our Amazing Soccer Coaches and College Players! ❤️⚽

A huge thank you to our dedicated soccer coaches and incredible college soccer players for volunteering their time and talents at the Pamoja Summer Soccer Camp!

One of the greatest joys is seeing youth who once participated in Pamoja programs grow into successful young adults, attend college, and then return to give back to the next generation. Your leadership, mentorship, and commitment inspire our young athletes both on and off the field.

Thank you for showing our youth what is possible through hard work, education, teamwork, and community service. You are helping build confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of belonging for the next generation of Pamoja youth.

Together, we are creating a cycle of empowerment where today’s participants become tomorrow’s leaders.
